24.01.2010 - Adria Airways (JP/Ljubljana) will launch six times weekly CRJ-200 service from Ljubljana to Belgrade on March 1. It has however given up its Ljubljana-Ohrid route. Adria will be forced to move its operations from Ljubljana to Maribor between April 7 and April 20 when Ljubljana airport will be closed for runway renovation works. easyJet (U2/London Luton) will temporarily suspend its London Luton-Ljubljana route during this period. Jat Airways (JU/Belgrade) will move its services to Portoroz and Turkish Airlines (TK/Istanbul Ataturk) is reportedly also considering serving Maribor. It is unclear at this point what alternatives will be chosen by Air France (AF/Paris CDG), CSA Czech Airlines (OK/Prague) and Montenegro Airlines (YM/Podgorica), the other carriers serving Ljubljana on a scheduled basis. 24.01.2010 - AirBridge Cargo (RU/Ulyanovsk) has added a fourth ex-Air France (AF/Paris CDG) B747-400F freighter and is planning to add a fifth ex-Air France aircraft of the same type in spring. It is planning to replace its remaining two B747-200Fs and its single B747-300F later this year. 24.01.2010 - Air France (AF/Paris CDG) has taken delivery of its first A380-800 on October 30 and has placed it into operation on the Paris CDG-New York JFK route. It has announced other network changes: Ajaccio-Barcelona: 2x weekly seasonal ERJ-145 service between May 29 and September 25 (operated by Régional (YS/Nantes)) Bastia-Milan Malpensa: 2x weekly seasonal ATR 72-500 service between May 29 and September 25 (operated by Airlinair (A5/Paris Orly)) Bordeaux-Malaga: weekly seasonal EMB-190 service between April 11 and September 26 (operated by Régional) Lille-Calvi: weekly seasonal EMB-170 service between May 29 and September 25 (operated by Régional) Metz/Nancy-Bastia: weekly seasonal ERJ-145 service between June 20 and September 12 (operated by Régional) Montpellier-Bastia: weekly seasonal ERJ-145 service between May 29 and September 18 (operated by Régional) Paris CDG-Abu Dhabi Intl: 5x weekly A330-200 service starting on May 3 Paris CDG-Lagos-Port Harcourt: daily B777-300ER service has started on December 7 (extending its Lagos route to replace non-stop A319-100 service) Rennes-Figari: weekly seasonal CRJ-700 service between June 6 and August 28 (operated by Brit Air (DB/Morlaix)) It has given up its regional routes from Clermont-Ferrand to Lille, Marseilles, Strasbourg and Toulouse, from Lyon to Rouen as well as its Paris CDG-Münster/Osnabrück route by the end of 2009. Clermont-Ferrand used to be a regional hub but now only has Air France services to Amsterdam, Lyon, Nantes, Nice, Paris CDG and Orly as well as seasonal routes to Ajaccio and Bastia. In other news, Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL/Amsterdam) have entered into a codeshare agreement with Gol Transportes Aéreos (G3/Sao Paulo Congonhas) offering its passengers connections via Rio de Janeiro Intl and Sao Paulo Guarulhos. Air France has however ended its codeshare relationship with Tunisair (TU/Tunis). 24.01.2010 - Airlinair (A5/Paris Orly) has launched up to three times weekly ATR 42-300 service from Paris Orly to Lannion on November 23 taking over commercial responsibility for the route from Air France (AF/Paris CDG) for which it had operated between the two airports before. 24.01.2010 - Alitalia (AZ/Rome Fiumicino) is again expanding its network and is planning to replace its remaining six B767-300ERs by four new A330-200s from the original Air One (AP/Rome Fiumicino) order and two leased B777-200ERs over the course of the next two years: Milan Linate-Crotone: daily CRJ-900 service has started on December 7 (operated by Air One CityLiner (CT/Rome Fiumicino)) Milan Malpensa-Miami: 3x weekly B767-300ER service starting on June 3 Rome Fiumicino-Crotone: 2x daily CRJ-900 service has started on December 7 (operated by Air One CityLiner) Rome Fiumicino-Los Angeles: 5x weekly B777-200ER service resuming on June 5 Rome Fiumicino-Malaga: daily A320-200 service resuming on March 28 Rome Fiumicino-Vienna: 2x daily CRJ-900 service resuming on March 28 (operated by Air One CityLiner) Alitalia will however give up its Milan Malpensa-Sao Paulo Guarulhos route on March 27 in favour of a frequency increase on the Rome Fiumicino-Sao Paulo Guarulhos route that will now be operated daily. It has replaced the ARJ-70 wet-leased from Transwede Airways (5T/Gothenburg Landvetter) by Cityjet (WX/Dublin) ARJ-85s on its twice daily Milan Linate-London City route now operated in codeshare with Air France (AF/Paris CDG). Alitalia and Baboo (F7/Geneva) have signed a bilateral codeshare agreement covering all flights operated between Geneva and Italy by the two carriers and the Baboo routes from Marseilles to Milan Malpensa and from Nice to Venice Marco Polo. |
