24.01.2010 - Air Italy (I9/Milan Malpensa) has launched weekly seasonal B767-300ER service from Verona to La Romana and will operate on the route until March 22. It has replaced the B737-500 wet-leased from Bulgaria Air (FB/Sofia) by a B737-300 also operated by its Bulgarian partner. Air Italy has also added a second ex-North American Airlines (NA/New York JFK) B767-300ER and will shortly add two ex-Air One (AP/Rome Fiumicino) B737-400s.

24.01.2010 - Air One (AP/Rome Fiumicino) has transferred 21 of its 28 A320-200s and 2000 employees to Alitalia (AZ/Rome Fiumicino). It will continue to operate seven A320-200s and a fleet of three B737-300s and fourteen B737-400s on behalf of parent Alitalia.

24.01.2010 - Alitalia (AZ/Rome Fiumicino) is again expanding its network and is planning to replace its remaining six B767-300ERs by four new A330-200s from the original Air One (AP/Rome Fiumicino) order and two leased B777-200ERs over the course of the next two years:
Milan Linate-Crotone: daily CRJ-900 service has started on December 7 (operated by Air One CityLiner (CT/Rome Fiumicino))
Milan Malpensa-Miami: 3x weekly B767-300ER service starting on June 3
Rome Fiumicino-Crotone: 2x daily CRJ-900 service has started on December 7 (operated by Air One CityLiner)
Rome Fiumicino-Los Angeles: 5x weekly B777-200ER service resuming on June 5
Rome Fiumicino-Malaga: daily A320-200 service resuming on March 28
Rome Fiumicino-Vienna: 2x daily CRJ-900 service resuming on March 28 (operated by Air One CityLiner)
Alitalia will however give up its Milan Malpensa-Sao Paulo Guarulhos route on March 27 in favour of a frequency increase on the Rome Fiumicino-Sao Paulo Guarulhos route that will now be operated daily. It has replaced the ARJ-70 wet-leased from Transwede Airways (5T/Gothenburg Landvetter) by Cityjet (WX/Dublin) ARJ-85s on its twice daily Milan Linate-London City route now operated in codeshare with Air France (AF/Paris CDG). Alitalia and Baboo (F7/Geneva) have signed a bilateral codeshare agreement covering all flights operated between Geneva and Italy by the two carriers and the Baboo routes from Marseilles to Milan Malpensa and from Nice to Venice Marco Polo.

11.10.2009 - Alitalia (AZ/Rome Fiumicino) has given up its Milan Malpensa-Dusseldorf Intl route on July 1, its routes from Milan Linate to Athens and Warsaw and from Milan Malpensa to Athens on September 20 and the Venice Marco Polo-Cagliari route on October 1. It has however added other new routes from Turin and Venice:
Turin-Amsterdam: 4x weekly A319-100 service starting on December 16
Turin-Berlin Tegel: 2x weekly A319-100 service starting on December 17
Turin-Istanbul Ataturk: 2x weekly A319-100 service starting on December 15
Turin-Moscow Sheremetyevo: 2x weekly A319-100 service starting on December 19
Venice Marco Polo-Brindisi: 3x weekly MD-82 service starting on August 11
Venice Marco Polo-Catania: 5x weekly MD-82 service starting on August 10
Alitalia is planning to relaunch Air One (AP/Rome Fiumicino) as a separate low-cost carrier that will operate five or six A320-200s out of Milan Malpensa. Eight A320-200s have already been transferred from Air One to Alitalia this summer and the remaining aircraft are still expected to follow later this or next year. It is reportedly considering withdrawing the CRJ-900 fleet of its Air One Cityliner (CYL/Rome Fiumicino) subsidiary from service by the end of 2009. It will replace its ARJ-70 wet-leased from Transwede Airways (5T/Gothenburg Landvetter) by a Cityjet (WX/Dublin) ARJ-85 later this fall.

11.10.2009 - FlyLAL Charters (LLC/Vilnius) has dry-leased two B737-500 to Tajik Air (7J/Dushanbe) for five years. It has added a second ex-Air One (AP/Rome Fiumicino) B737-300.
