29.08.2010 - Medallion Air (MDP/Bucharest Baneasa) has given up plans for scheduled services between Spain and Morocco that had been announced earlier this year after disagreements with its Spanish joint venture partner. It currently operates a single ex-Spanair (JK/Palma de Mallorca) MD-83 on behalf of Royal Air Maroc (AT/Casablanca) on a wet-lease basis.

14.12.2008 - Air Comet (A7/Madrid Barajas) parent Grupo Marsans has surprisingly confirmed its order for four A380-800s, 10 A350-900s, five additional A330-200s, five A321-200s, 25 A320-200s and 12 A319-100s that it had originally placed when it still had control of Aerolineas Argentinas (AR/Buenos Aires Ezeiza), Austral (AU/Buenos Aires Aeroparque) and before Air Comet Chile (3I/Santiago de Chile) has suspended operations. It is unclear whether all of the aircraft will eventually be operated by Air Comet or if Marsans has other plans. Air Comet has wet-leased an A310-300 and an A330-200 to Royal Air Maroc (AT/Casablanca) for the Hajj season. Air Comet has announced plans for a new route linking Madrid and Medellin in 2009. It has now also given up its Madrid-San Jose Juan Santamaria route though.

19.07.2008 - Air France (AF/Paris CDG) has placed an order for four additional B777-300ERs, nine more A320-200s and five A321-200s. It has entered into a codeshare agreement with Kenya Airways (KQ/Nairobi Intl) for the Paris CDG-Nairobi Intl and Nairobi Intl-Dzaoudzi routes. It has also resumed codesharing on Royal Air Maroc (AT/Casablanca) services from Lyon, Marseilles and Toulouse to Casablanca. Air France is considering launching own highspeed rail services in 2010 and has reportedly entered into talks with Veolia Transport and SNCF about possible joint ventures. In other news, it will stop serving St. Maarten on its Miami-Port au Prince-St. Maarten-Pointe à Pitre-Cayenne services as of September 6. Air France (AF/Paris CDG), British Airways (BA/London Heathrow), KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL/Amsterdam), Martinair (MP/Amsterdam) and SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK/Copenhagen Kastrup) have all pleaded guilty and agreed to pay fines to the US authorities for price fixing cargo rates.

30.03.2008 - Air France (AF/Paris CDG) has announced several adjustments to its regional routes:
London City-Eindhoven: 2x weekdaily Do328-110 service starting on March 30 operated by Scot Airways (CB/Cambridge) (replacing sister carrier KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL/Amsterdam) service from Heathrow)
Nice-Geneva: daily ARJ-85 service starting on May 5 operated by Cityjet (WX/Dublin)
Paris Orly-Avignon: Last service on July 31
Paris Orly-Rennes: Route already suspended and replaced with more services from CDG
Pointe à Pitre-Orlando Intl: weekly A320-200 service between July 18 and August 15
Toulouse-Madrid: Route already suspended
Air France-KLM is planning to fully take over subsidiary Martinair (MP/Amsterdam) later this year if the European Commission approves a transaction to buy the remaining shares from logistics group Maersk. The group is planning to finalize joint venture plans with China Southern Airlines (CZ/Guangzhou) for a new China based cargo carrier later this year and is reportedly also considering taking stakes in its US partner carriers Delta Air Lines (DL/Atlanta) and Northwest Airlines (NW/Minneapolis/St. Paul) should the proposed merger plans go ahead. Air France has stopped codesharing with Royal Air Maroc (AT/Casablanca) earlier this month.
