11.10.2009 - Bukovyna Airlines (BQ/Chernovtsy) has added six ex-China Southern Airlines (CZ/Guangzhou) MD-82s that it is planning to operate on behalf of Chabahar Airlines (IRU/Tehran) and Iran Air (IR/Tehran). It is reportedly also considering adding A300-600s for charter and ACMI operations.

20.06.2009 - UM Air (UF/Kiev Borispol) will lease a second ex-China Southern Airlines (CZ/Guangzhou) MD-82.

07.12.2008 - Aeroflot (SU/Moscow Sheremetyevo) has announced plans to place a bid for a 25.5% stake the Russian state holds in S7 Airlines (S7/Novosibirsk). It will lease additional seven new A320-200s and an ex-Oceanair (O6/Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont) B767-300ER. Aeroflot has started codesharing on the twice weekly China Southern Airlines (CZ/Guangzhou) services linking Moscow Sheremetyevo and Urumqi in Western China. It has also received approval from the US Department of Transportation to start codesharing with its Skyteam partners Delta Air Lines (DL/Atlanta) and Northwest Airlines (NW/Minneapolis/St. Paul). Aeroflot will operate twice weekly seasonal A320-200 service from Moscow Sheremetyevo to Salzburg between January 3 and March 14. It has already launched twice weekly Tu-154M service from Moscow Sheremetyevo via Krasnoyarsk to Magadan (in addition to its services via Novosibirsk). While Aeroflot has transferred some routes back from its Aeroflot-Don (D9/Rostov) and Aeroflot-Nord (5N/Arkhangelsk) subsidiaries using additional mainline Tu-154M aircraft, both subsidiaries are still operating using the Aeroflot brand and carry the SU code on all of their services now under a codeshare agreement instead of the previous wet-leases.

20.09.2008 - Dniproavia (Z6/Dnepropetrovsk) has leased a third ex-China Southern Airlines (CZ/Guangzhou) B737-500 and a first ex-Oceanair (O6/Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont) B767-300ER.

14.09.2008 - Aurora Airlines (URR/Maribor) has added an ex-Avianca Colombia (AV/Bogota) MD-83 and two ex-China Southern Airlines (CZ/Guangzhou) MD-82s.
