24.01.2010 - Windjet (IV/Catania) has introduced new routes from its Bologna Forli base and has added an eighth ex-Dragonair (KA/Hong Kong) A320-200:
Bologna Forli-London Gatwick: 2x weekly A319-100 service starting on March 28 (replacing Luton route previously operated)
Bologna Forli-Nis: weekly A320-200 service has started on December 26
Bologna Forli-Olbia: 3x weekly seasonal A319-100 service between June 18 and September 19
Bologna Forli-Tallinn: weekly seasonal A319-100 service between June 9 and September 1
Catania-Lyon-Marseilles-Catania: weekly seasonal A319-100 service starting on April 9
Catania-Nantes-Toulouse-Catania: weekly seasonal A319-100 service starting on April 9
Catania-Prague: 2x weekly seasonal A320-200 service between June 6 and September 26
Palermo-Lyon-Marseilles-Catania: weekly seasonal A319-100 service starting on April 9
Palermo-Nantes-Toulouse-Catania: weekly seasonal A319-100 service starting on April 9
Pisa-Moscow Domodedovo: weekly seasonal A320-200 service between May 22 and September 11
Pisa-St. Petersburg: weekly seasonal A320-200 service between May 29 and September 11
It has however given up its routes from Forli to Cagliari and Rome Fiumicino on January 10.

11.10.2009 - Windjet (IV/Catania) has terminated its routes from Bologna Forli to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels Ntl, Krakow and Riga and from Catania to Malta. It has however also introduced new routes:
Bologna Forli-Rome Fiumicino: up to 2x daily A319-100 service starting on October 25
Catania-Milan Orio al Serio: daily A320-200 service has resumed on September 21

20.06.2009 - Meridiana (IG/Olbia) will resume four times weekly seasonal A319-100 service from Florence to Palermo between June 2 and September 2. It has not suspended its public service obligation routes from Catania, Palermo and Trapani to Lampedusa and Pantelleria and still wet-leased three ATR 42-300s for these services and other regional flights out of Cagliari. Meridiana has however terminated its Verona-Naples route at the end of March and will also pull out of the Naples-Venice Marco Polo route on September 30. It will return one of its four A319-100s to the lessor after the summer season. It has entered into a codeshare agreement with Blu Express (BV/Rome Fiumicino) and is now selling Blu Express services from Rome Fiumicino to Lamezia Terme, Nice and Turin while Blu Express is selling Meridiana flights from Rome Fiumicino to Cagliari, Olbia and Verona. Meridiana and Windjet (IV/Catania) have also extended their codeshare agreement to include additional routes such as Catania-Turin, Catania-Verona, Rome Fiumicino-Catania and Rome Fiumicino-Palermo.

20.06.2009 - Windjet (IV/Catania) is considering leasing two A330-200s for longhaul services from Bologna Forli that would be launched in 2010. It has also added a Piaggio Avanti for business charters. It has already given up its new routes from Bologna Forli to Naples and Timisoara again but will launch twice weekly A319-100 service from Bologna Forli to London Luton on July 2. It has already launched a twice weekly A320-200 service between Catania and Malta on June 6.

20.06.2009 - XL Airways France (SE/Paris CDG) is now essentially owned by the Icelandic government after the latter has taken control of XL Airways France owner Straumur. XL has leased two ex-Aerolineas Argentinas (AR/Buenos Aires Ezeiza) and ex-Volareweb.com (VE/Milan Malpensa) A320-200s and will add an ex-Windjet (IV/Catania) later this summer when it will operate a total of six A320-200s. It has introduced new longhaul routes:
Paris CDG-New York JFK: 2x weekly seasonal A330-200 service starting on June 26
Paris CDG-Samana-Punta Cana: weekly seasonal A330-200 service has started on May 14
It has however dropped Freeport, Nassau and Varadero from its longhaul network.
