29.08.2010 - Jetairfly (TB/Brussels) has added a fourth ex-TUIfly (Germany) (X3/Hanover) B737-700 and a sixth ex-Sun Country Airlines (SY/Minneapolis/St. Paul) B737-800 to its fleet for further network expansion: Brussels Charleroi-Algiers: weekly B737-800 service has started on June 25 Brussels Charleroi-Fez: 2x weekly B737-700 service starting on October 28 Ostend-Malaga: 2x weekly B737-700 service has started on July 7 24.01.2010 - Jetairfly (TB/Brussels) has wet-leased two B737-800s to Canjet Airlines (C6/Halifax) for the winter charter season in Canada. It will add new seasonal routes next summer season: Brussels Charleroi-Al Hoceima: weekly B737 service starting on June 28 Brussels Charleroi-Heraklion: 2x weekly B737 service starting on April 25 Brussels Charleroi-Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen: 3x weekly service starting on April 4 Brussels Charleroi-Rhodes: 2x weekly B737 service starting on April 25 Brussels Charleroi-Tangiers: 3x weekly service starting on April 4 Ostend-Enfidha: weekly B737 service starting on April 25 20.06.2009 - Jetairfly (TB/Brussels) has added a third ex-TUIFly (Germany) (X3/Hanover) B737-700 and a second ex-Skymark Airlines (BC/Tokyo Haneda) B767-300ER and will add new destinations and routes: Brussels Charleroi-Enfidha: weekly B737 service starting on October 31 (replacing Monastir route) Brussels Charleroi-Murcia: 3x weekly B737 service starting on October 31 Brussels Ntl-Enfidha: 2x weekly B737 service starting on October 31 (replacing Monastir route) Brussels Ntl-Liberia-Cancun-Brussels Ntl: weekly seasonal B767-300ER service starting on November 13 Brussels Ntl-Mombasa-Zanzibar-Brussels Ntl: weekly seasonal B767-300ER service starting on November 1 Liege-Enfidha: weekly B737 service starting on November 3 (replacing Monastir route) Toulon-Ajaccio: weekly seasonal ARJ-85 service between July 4 and August 29 operated by Brussels Airlines (SN/Brussels Ntl) 14.12.2008 - Jetairfly (TB/Brussels) will launch twice weekly Brussels Charleroi-Djerba-Monastir-Brussels Charleroi triangle service on April 3. It has already launched weekly Brussels Ntl-Taba service. 20.09.2008 - Futura International Airways (FH/Palma de Mallorca) , Futura Gael (FGL/Dublin) and FlyAnt (FYA/Vitoria) have suspended operations on September 7 because of financial difficulties of the Futura group. The carriers had announced plans to immediately restart operations under bankruptcy protection with approximately 50% of its fleets and staff but these plans have not yet materialized. The failure of Futura had an impact on other carriers such as Air Algérie (AH/Algiers), Arke Fly (OR/Amsterdam), Binter Canarias (NT/Las Palmas), Blue Air (Romania) (0B/Bucharest Baneasa), Blue Panorama Airlines (BV/Rome Fiumicino), Jetairfly (TB/Brussels Ntl), JetX (GX/Reykjavik Keflavik) and Sun Express (XQ/Antalya) that had all wet-leased one or several B737s from the carrier. EuroAtlantic Airways (MM/Lisbon) and Pegasus Airlines (H9/Istanbul Ataturk) have reportedly shown interest in taking over Futura out of bankrupty protection. |
