24.01.2010 - Blue 1 (KF/Helsinki) is resuming two routes it had previously served: Helsinki-Berlin Tegel: daily ARJ-85 service resuming on March 1 Helsinki-Brussels Ntl: 2x daily ARJ-85 service resuming on March 29 Lufthansa (LH/Frankfurt Intl) will codeshare on the route to Berlin. 24.01.2010 - MCA Airlines (MCA/Stockholm Arlanda) has suspended operations on November 6 because of financial difficulties. It had operated two Saab 2000s on a wet-lease contract for Blue 1 (KF/Helsinki) and a Fokker 100 on behalf of Petro Air (PEO/Tripoli Intl). In addition, it was operating scheduled services to the Middle East with an A320-200 it had itself wet-leased from SmartLynx (6Y/Riga). Its parent MCA Travel Group has also gone out of business later in November 2009 after first trying to find alternative operators to continue operations between Scandinavia and the Middle East. 24.01.2010 - Skyways Express (JZ/Stockholm Arlanda) has been sold by Skyways Holding to the CEO of the carrier, Lars-Ake Bertilsson for the symbolic price of 1 SEK. It has launched twice weekdaily service from Jönköping to Copenhagen on January 18 using Direktflyg (HS/Börlänge) Jetstream 32s. Skyways will also operate a twice weekdaily seasonal Fokker 50 service linking Stockholm Arlanda and Roros in Norway between January 28 and March 25. It has leased a Fokker 50 from Air Iceland (NY/Reykjavik Domestic) and is operating the aircraft and a second own Fokker 50 on behalf of Blue 1 (KF/Helsinki) from Stockholm Arlanda to Tampere and Vaasa. Skyways has given up its Vilnius-Copenhagen route again in the meantime and has cancelled plans for a further expansion from Vilnius. 11.10.2009 - Blue 1 (KF/Helsinki) has finalized plans for its new seasonal services from Kittilä: Helsinki-Rovaniemi: 4x weekly seasonal ARJ-85 service starting on December 4 Kittilä-Dusseldorf Intl: weekly seasonal MD-90-30 service starting on December 17 Kittilä-Paris CDG: weekly seasonal MD-90-30 service starting on December 19 20.06.2009 - Adria Airways (JP/Ljubljana) , Blue 1 (KF/Helsinki) and Croatia Airlines (OU/Zagreb) will become full Star Alliance members later this year as the alliance is giving up its regional partnership program. Adria is planning to lease three A319-100s that are scheduled to be delivered between 2009 and 2013. It has converted its order for a single CRJ-1000 into a CRJ-900. Adria is reportedly interested in taking a 30% stake in Montenegro Airlines (YM/Podgorica). |
