30.03.2008 - bmi british midland (BD/East Midlands) has converted outstanding orders for 5 A319-100s into A321-200 orders. It will wet-lease two B757-200s from Astreaus (5W/London Gatwick). The aircraft will be used to replace one-stop service to Almaty with a new three times weekly London Heathrow-Almaty-Bishkek service and four times weekly non-stop service between Heathrow and Freetown. As a result, service to Dakar will be suspended. bmi has put its code on Air New Zealand (NZ/Auckland) services between London Heathrow and Los Angeles and Air One (AP/Rome Fiumicino) services between Milan Linate and Naples. 09.12.2007 - Thomsonfly (BY/London Luton) has wet-leased one of its B737-300s to Air New Zealand (NZ/Auckland) for the summer season in the southern hemisphere. It has given up plans to base an aircraft in Aberdeen this winter season and to launch new routes to Funchal, Geneva and Prague. Fly Globespan will only operate weekly services to Malaga and Tenerife Sur this winter season but is expected to again base a B737-700 in Aberdeen next summer season. So far it has only confirmed its Belfast Intl/Glasgow Intl-Orlando Sanford and Glasgow Intl/Manchester-Hamilton longhaul routes for the winter season and is expected to temporarily suspend its services to Boston, Calgary, New York JFK and Vancouver as well as all of its other services to Hamilton for the winter season. It has also given up plans for a Manchester-Johannesburg service this winter season. Globespan will operate a weekly seasonal B737 service from Edinburgh and Grenoble between December 29 and March 29 and inaugurate weekly B737-800 service from Edinburgh to Paphos on April 1, 2008. 02.04.2006 - Norwegian (DY/Oslo Gardermoen) will lease a 17th ex-Air New Zealand (NZ/Auckland) B737-300. 01.04.2006 - Estonian Air (OV/Tallinn) has added an ex-Air New Zealand (NZ/Auckland) B737-300. |
