11.10.2009 - CSA Czech Airlines (OK/Prague) has announced a restructuring plan that will include 860 job cuts, three B737s and its two remaining A310-300s being removed from the fleet until spring 2010 and adjustments to the route network. As part of the plan, it will abandon all scheduled longhaul services next week and terminate its Prague-Toronto Pearson route on October 2 and its flights linking Prague and New York JFK on October 23. It will continue to operate charter services with its A310-300s for the winter season 2009/2010. CSA will however also give up its Prague-Manchester route on October 24. It will also combine its non-stop services from Prague to Almaty and Tashkent to twice weekly A319-100 triangle flights to both destinations as of October 26. Air France (AF/Paris CDG) has pulled out of the bidding process for the sale of CSA Czech Airlines earlier this summer leaving a consortium of Icelandair (FI/Reykjavik Keflavik) and Travel Service Airlines (QS/Prague) as the only bidder that has offered 39 million USD. CSA will wet-lease one of its A320-200s to Aircalin (SB/Noumea Tontouta) for four weeks in November.
21.09.2008 - Fly Globespan (Y2/Edinburgh) will retire its remaining two B737-600s later this month. It will wet-lease one of its B767-300ERs to Aircalin intl (SB/Noumea Tontouta) for the winter season.
