20.06.2009 - Air France (AF/Paris CDG) , KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL/Amsterdam) and Delta Air Lines (DL/Atlanta) including subsidiary Northwest Airlines (NW/Minneapolis/St. Paul) have entered into a joint venture for all transatlantic routes between Europe and the United States. Similar agreements had previously existed between Air France and Delta and between KLM and Northwest. Air France will introduce a new premium Economy Class product branded as “Premium Voyageur” later this year on some selected longhaul routes. It will launch twice weekly non-stop service from Paris CDG to Yaoundé on July 16 in addition to one weekly flight via Douala that will continue to get a daily A340-300 service from Paris CDG with six instead of four weekly flights now terminating in Douala. Air France has however given up its Clermont-Ferrand-Biarritz/Brussels Ntl, Lyon-Frankfurt Intl and Rennes-Strasbourg routes earlier this spring already and will pull out of the Bordeaux-Brussels Ntl market on June 27. It has also given up plans for a seasonal Bordeaux-Calvi service. As of June 15, it will resume its codeshare agreement with China Eastern Airlines (MU/Shanghai Hongqiao) for the Paris CDG-Shanghai Pu Dong route that is served twice daily by Air France and daily by China Eastern. At the same time, it will also put its AF code on some Air Tahiti Nui (TN/Papeete) services between Los Angeles and Papeete. As part of its capacity cuts, Air France has sold all four B777-200ERF freighters it has ordered and is not planning to lease back the two aircraft it has not yet taken delivery of. Air France-KLM also plans to cut its workforce by 2500-3000 jobs. It has reportedly also deferred deliveries of two B777-300ERs and two A380-800s. In other news, it is however reportedly planning to place a joint order with KLM for up to 100 A350s or B787s later this year. 16.12.2008 - Airlinair (A5/Paris Orly) has leased another ex-Air Tahiti (VT/Papeete) ATR 72-500. It will launch a weekly seasonal ATR 42-500 from La Rochelle via Poitiers to Nice on May 16. It has already launched twice weekdaily services from both Caen and Cherbourg to Paris Orly on October 27 using Beech 1900s of Chalair Aviation (CLG/Caen). 05.04.2008 - Airlinair (A5/Paris Orly) has added an ex-Air Tahiti (VT/Papeete) ATR 72-500. 09.09.2006 - Airlinair (A5/Paris Orly) will add an ex-Air Tahiti (VT/Papeete) ATR 72-500. |
