29.08.2010 - Sun Express (XQ/Antalya) has leased two ex-Air Europa (UX/Palma de Mallorca) and ex-Air India Express (IX/Mumbai) B737-800s and has added new routes:
Antalya-Memmingen: weekly B737-800 service (already launched)
Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen-Berlin Tegel: 3x weekly B737-800 service starting on November 2 (in addition to Schönefeld route)
Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen-Münster/Osnabrück: weekly B737-800 service has started on April 4
Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen-Saarbrücken: weekly B737-800 service has started on April 4
Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen-Vienna: 2x weekly B737-800 service has started on July 9
Izmir-Mardin: 2x weekly B737-800 service (already launched)
Izmir-Berlin Tegel: 3x weekly B737-800 service starting on November 1 (in addition to Schönefeld route)
Izmir-Münster/Osnabrück: weekly B737-800 service has started on May 1
It has however not launched its previously announced Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen-Zurich route and has given up its routes from Izmir to Athens and Basle/Mulhouse.

29.08.2010 - Turkish Airlines (TK/Istanbul Ataturk) is reportedly also interested in acquiring Star Alliance partner Croatia Airlines (OU/Zagreb) and ailing Serbian national carrier Jat Airways (JU/Belgrade). It has however given up plans to set-up a subsidiary in Macedonia as a new national carrier there. THY has ordered one additional A330-200, ten B737-800s and ten B737-900ERs for deliveries between 2011 and 2014 while also securing options for additional 15 B737NG aircraft. It has also announced plans to order either five A380-800s or B747-8s for long haul routes with high demand. It now operates a total of four B777-300ER on dry-lease from Jet Airways (9W/Mumbai), an A330-200 wet-leased from bmi british midland (BD/East Midlands) and has also leased three additional ex-Bahrain Air (2B/Bahrain) A320-200s. THY has again announced a wide range of new short and long haul routes from Istanbul:
Istanbul Atatürk-Adler/Sochi: 3x weekly A320-200/B737-400 service has started on May 25
Istanbul Atatürk-Alexandria Borg el Arab: 4x weekly A319-100 service has started on June 19 (moving to Alexandria El Nohza on November 1)
Istanbul Atatürk-Bangkok Suvarnabhumi-Ho Chi Minh City: 4x weekly A340-300 service starting on December 30 (adding Ho Chi Minh City as new destination)
Istanbul Atatürk-Denizli: 2x daily B737-700/-800 service resuming on September 1
Istanbul Atatürk-Entebbe-Dar es Salaam: 3x weekly A330-200 service has started on June 13
Istanbul Atatürk-Lagos-Accra: 4x weekly A330-200/A340-300 service has started on July 15 (adding Accra as new destination)
Istanbul Atatürk-Los Angeles: 4x weekly B777-300ER service starting on March 3, 2011
Istanbul Atatürk-Podgorica: 3x weekly A319-100 service has started on July 8
Istanbul Atatürk-Washington Dulles-Atlanta: 5x weekly A330-200 service starting on November 7
Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen-Brussels Ntl: 4x weekly seasonal A320-200 service has started on May 16
THY has however given up its routes from Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen to Berlin Schönefeld, Cologne/Bonn, Hanover and Stuttgart earlier this year. Turkish Airlines has also announced Guangzhou, Kuala Lumpur, Malaga, Manila, Melbourne Tullamarine, Toulouse and Valencia as new destinations that it is planning to add later this or next year. THY and Aeroflot (SU/Moscow Sheremetyevo) are reportedly considering setting up a joint subsidiary based on the business model of Sun Express (XQ/Antalya), the very successful joint venture with Lufthansa (LH/Frankfurt Intl). Turkish Airlines and Swiss (LX/Zurich) have signed a codeshare agreement covering the routes from Basle/Mulhouse, Geneva and Zurich to Istanbul Atatürk. It has also started codesharing on Air China (CA/Beijing) services between Beijing and Shanghai Pu Dong. In addition, THY has applied for permission to being codesharing with US Star Alliance partner US Airways (US/Phoenix).

24.01.2010 - Sun Express (XQ/Antalya) has launched four times weekly B737-800 service from Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen to Hatay and three weekly B737-800 services linking Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen and Mardin. It will add three times weekly B737-800 service from Izmir to Vienna on May 1.

11.10.2009 - Sun Express (XQ/Antalya) has placed an order for six additional B737-800s that will be used to replace its three B757-200s as of 2010. It has announced a variety of new routes from Istanbul and Izmir:
Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen-Dortmund: weekly B737-800 service starting on November 5
Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen-Dusseldorf Intl: 4x weekly B737-800 service starting on November 1
Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen-Frankfurt Intl: 10x weekly B737-800 service starting on November 1
Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen-Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel: 2x weekly B737-800 service starting on November 7
Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen-Munich: 5x weekly B737-800 service starting on November 1
Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen-Nuremberg: 2x weekly B737-800 service starting on October 29
Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen-Zurich: 2x weekly B737-800 service starting on November 2
Izmir-Athens: 2x weekly B737-800 service has started on August 4

20.06.2009 - Sun Express (XQ/Antalya) has launched three times weekly B737-800 service from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen to Stuttgart. It has postponed the retirement of its three B757-200s and is now planning to replace the aircraft by the end of the year when it is planning to operate 25 B737-800s. It has leased an ex-Air Berlin (AB/Berlin Tegel) B737-800.
