Belavia (B2/Minsk International 2) has added a sixth ex-Xiamen Airlines (MF/Xiamen) B737-500 and has introduced new routes from its Minsk Intl 2 base:
Minsk Intl 2-Batumi: 2x weekly B737-500 service starting on September 15
Minsk Intl 2-Ekaterinburg: 2x weekly B737-500 service has started on May 31
Minsk Intl 2-Moscow Vnukovo: 6x weekly CRJ-200 service has started on April 16 (in addition to Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo services)
Minsk Intl 2-Stockholm Arlanda: 3x weekly CRJ-200 service has started on August 3
Minsk Intl 2-Tehran Imam Khomeini: 2x weekly B737-500 service has started on August 4

S7 Airlines (S7/Novosibirsk) is launching new routes from some of its destinations in the Far East:
Khabarovsk-Bangkok Suvarnabhumi: bi-weekly B767-300ER service starting on October 2
Krasnoyarsk-Beijing: weekly A319-100 service has started on June 30
Krasnoyarsk-Yerevan: weekly A320-200 service (already launched)
Moscow Domodedovo-Abakan: 2x weekly A320-200 service has started on June 12
Moscow Domodedovo-Alicante: weekly seasonal A320-200 service between May 1 and September 18
Moscow Domodedovo-Palma de Mallorca: weekly seasonal A320-200 service between June 11 and September 24
Moscow Domodedovo-Rimini: 2x weekly seasonal A320-200 service has started on June 19
Moscow Domodedovo-Semipalatinsk: weekly seasonal A319-100 service has resumed on June 7
Moscow Domodedovo-Tbilisi: 3x weekly A319-100 service has resumed on August 23
Novosibirsk-Irkutsk-Magadan: weekly seasonal A320-200 service has resumed on May 24
Novosibirsk-Moscow Domodedovo-Vienna: weekly A320-200 service has started on June 12
Novosibirsk-Osh: weekly A320-200 service has started on May 9
Novosibirsk-Prague: weekly A320-200 service has started on April 30
It has however given up its Moscow Domodedovo-Khabarovsk route in February instead. S7 has started codesharing on the daily Etihad Airways (EY/Abu Dhabi Intl) A320-200 flights linking Moscow Domodedovo and Abu Dhabi Intl and the twice daily Belavia (B2/Minsk Intl 2) service from Moscow Domodedovo to Minsk Intl 2.

Belavia (B2/Minsk International 2) has launched three times weekly CRJ-200 service from Minsk Intl 2 to Riga on January 19 in addition to the daily Air Baltic (BT/Riga) services which it had offered through a bilateral codeshare agreement already.

Belavia (B2/Minsk International 2) is considering adding longhaul aircraft to its fleet to introduce new routes to China and North America. It is planning to retire its remaining Tu-154s by 2011 and has retired its last Tu-134 earlier this summer and has replaced it by a fifth ex-FlyLAL B737-500. The government is reportedly also considering merging regional carrier Gomelavia (YD/Gomel) and cargo operator Trans Avia Export (AL/ Minsk Machulishchy) into Belavia. It has launched three times weekly CRJ-200 service from Minsk Intl 2 to Amsterdam on August 10.

Belavia (B2/Minsk International 2) has resumed four times weekly CRJ-200 service between Minsk Intl 2 and St. Petersburg on March 29. Belavia has also launched weekly seasonal B737-500 service from Minsk Intl 2 to Beirut on June 11 but has not resumed its Minsk Intl 2-Shannon route this summer season. It has leased two ex-Air China (CA/Beijing) B737-300s and two ex-Skywest Airlines (USA) (OO/Salt Lake City) CRJ-200s. It has however retired its last An-24 turboprops in April instead and no longer uses its Tu-154Ms on scheduled services.

KD Avia (KD/Kaliningrad) has been forced to temporarily suspend operations for two days in mid-April because of financial difficulties. It has since resumed limited operations but will not resume its seasonal services from Kaliningrad to Odessa and Simferopol this year while it has also terminated its Kaliningrad-Milan Malpensa route. KD has entered into a codeshare agreement with Belavia (B2/Minsk Intl 2) for the Kaliningrad-Minsk Intl 2 route operated by the Belorussian carrier.

Belavia (B2/Minsk International 2) has launched weekly CRJ-200 service from Minsk Intl 2 to Batumi.

Belavia (B2/Minsk International 2) has started codesharing on Estonian Air (OV/Tallinn) services between Minsk Intl 2 and Tallinn.

S7 Airlines (S7/Novosibirsk) has entered into a codeshare agreement with Belavia (B2/Minsk Intl 2) for the Moscow Domodedovo-Minsk Intl 2 route that is served twice daily by Belavia. It has announced plans to retire its remaining 4 Il-86s and 25 Tu-154Ms this fall.

Belavia (B2/Minsk International 2) has leased a first ex-China Eastern Airlines (MU/Shanghai Hongqiao) B737-300.

Belavia (B2/Minsk International 2) will launch three times weekly B737-500 service from Minsk Intl 2 to Milan Malpensa on June 15. It is planning to retire its An-24s and Tu-134s by the end of 2008.


30.03.2008

Armavia (U8/Yerevan) will launch twice weekly service from Yerevan to Minsk Intl 2 and weekly service from Yerevan to Astrakhan on April 1 using a Belavia (B2/Minsk Intl 2) CRJ-200. It has however given up its routes to Cologne/Bonn and Frankfurt.

Belavia (B2/Minsk International 2) will operate a weekly seasonal Tu-154M service from Minsk Intl 2 to Astana between June 29 and August 31.

Belavia (B2/Minsk International 2) will lease two more ex-FlyLAL (TE/Vilnius) B737-500s from May 2008.

Transaero Airlines (UN/Moscow Domodedovo) will lease several B747-400s over the next couple of years to replace its B747-200s that it plans to convert into freighters. It will launch daily B737-500 service from Moscow Sheremetyevo to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion on October 28 in addition to its two daily services from Domodedovo. On the same date, it will also introduce a weekly B737-500 service between St. Petersburg and Munich. Transaero has started codesharing on Belavia (B2/Minsk Intl 2) services between Moscow Domodedovo and Minsk Intl 2.

Aerosvit Airlines (VV/Kiev Borispol) has started codesharing with Belavia (B2/Minsk Intl 2) on the Kiev Borispol-Minsk Intl 2 route.

Belavia (B2/Minsk International 2) has leased a second ex-Mesa Airlines (YV/Phoenix) CRJ-200 and will use the aircraft to introduce new routes:
Minsk Intl 2-Prague: 3x weekly CRJ-200 service starting on May 15
Minsk Intl 2-St. Petersburg: 3x weekly CRJ-200 service starting on May 21

Belavia (B2/Minsk International 2) is planning to lease a B737-700 and three CRJ-200s. It is also considering adding several Tu-204-300s. Belavia will launch a weekly Tu-154M service from Minsk Intl 2 to Frankfurt Hahn on July 10 in addition to its three weekly flights to Frankfurt's International airport. Belavia has also again suspended its routes from Minsk to Berlin Schoenefeld and Stockholm Arlanda.

Belavia (B2/Minsk International 2) has resumed twice weekly An-24 service between Minsk Intl 2 and Berlin Schoenefeld. The state carrier is planning to add four B737-300s or B737-400s later this year.
