Binter Canarias (NT/Las Palmas) has launched twice weekly service from Tenerife Norte to Funchal on July 12 using ATR 72-500s of partner Naysa Aerotaxis (ZN/Las Palmas). It has announced plans to add more regional routes to Africa with Agadir and other destinations in Guinea, Mauritania and Morocco being high on the wishlist. Binter currently serves Laayoune and Marrakech.
Cimber Sterling (QI/Sonderborg) has announced several new routes from its Danish bases and has added a second ex-Binter Canarias (NT/Las Palmas) ATR 72-500 again:

Binter Canarias (NT/Las Palmas) is considering launching a separate low-cost carrier that would operate several ATR 72-500s on inter-island flights on the Canary Islands in addition to its own services.

Binter Canarias (NT/Las Palmas) and Swiftair (W3/Madrid) have set-up a cargo joint venture branded as BinterSwift that will sell cargo capacity on Binter Canaris interisland services and Swiftair B737-300F cargo services between Madrid and the Canary Islands.

Futura International Airways (FH/Palma de Mallorca) , Futura Gael (FGL/Dublin) and FlyAnt (FYA/Vitoria) have suspended operations on September 7 because of financial difficulties of the Futura group. The carriers had announced plans to immediately restart operations under bankruptcy protection with approximately 50% of its fleets and staff but these plans have not yet materialized. The failure of Futura had an impact on other carriers such as Air Algérie (AH/Algiers), Arke Fly (OR/Amsterdam), Binter Canarias (NT/Las Palmas), Blue Air (Romania) (0B/Bucharest Baneasa), Blue Panorama Airlines (BV/Rome Fiumicino), Jetairfly (TB/Brussels Ntl), JetX (GX/Reykjavik Keflavik) and Sun Express (XQ/Antalya) that had all wet-leased one or several B737s from the carrier. EuroAtlantic Airways (MM/Lisbon) and Pegasus Airlines (H9/Istanbul Ataturk) have reportedly shown interest in taking over Futura out of bankrupty protection.

Swiftair (7J/Madrid Barajas) has taken delivery of its first new ATR 72-500 and has wet-leased it to Binter Canarias (NT/Las Palmas).

Naysa Aerotaxis (ZN/Las Palmas) has taken delivery of its first two new ATR 72-500s and has also added two ex-Binter Canarias (NT/Las Palmas) ATR 72-200s to its fleet. It operates some of the aircraft on behalf of Binter on a wet-lease agreement.

Binter Canarias (NT/Las Palmas) will give up its routes from Las Palmas and Tenerife Norte to Milan Orio al Serio and Paris CDG by the end of April. It is however considering launching domestic services in Mauritania.

Binter Canarias (NT/Las Palmas) has launched a new weekly ATR 72 service from Las Palmas to Marrakech. Using a mix of Air Luxor (LK/Lisbon) A320-200s and ATR 72s it has also added a new daily seasonal service between Las Palmas and Funchal and a weekly flight from Tenerife Sur to Funchal. Binter will launch twice weekly flights from Las Palmas to Milan Orio al Serio and Paris CDG on October 27 using Futura International Airways (FH/Palma de Mallorca) B737-400s.
