Swiss (LX/Zurich) has entered into a close cooperation with Swiss tour operator Kuoni and will take over Edelweiss Air (WK/Zurich) from Kuoni. Edelweiss will continue to operate as a separate charter carrier. It will launch twice weekly service from Basle/Mulhouse to Belgrade on March 30 using Swiss European Air Lines (SWU/Zurich) ARJ-100s. Swiss will adjust its schedule for its Cameroon services and operate three weekly Zurich-Douala-Yaoundé services as of March 30. Malabo will be served by parent Lufthansa (LH/Frankfurt) as of the end of March. Swiss will wet-lease two ex-Germania (ST/Berlin Tegel) Fokker 100s from Contact Air (C3/Stuttgart) as of April 1.

Corendon Airlines (CAI/Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen) is currently operating one of its B737-300s on behalf of Cameroon Airlines (UY/Douala) and has wet-leased a B737-400 to Aerosvit Airlines (VV/Kiev Borispol) for the winter season.

Brussels Airlines (SN/Brussels) will start codesharing with Jet Airways (9W/Mumbai) later this year when Jet will launch daily services from Mumbai to New York JFK and from Delhi to Toronto Pearson via Brussels. Brussels Airlines reportedly has given up plans to invest in a new national carrier in Cameroon.

SN Brussels Airlines (SN/Brussels) has been selected as the preferred bidder for the restructuring of Cameroon Airlines (UY/Douala) and will reportedly transfer several BAe 146s to its new 51% subsidiary. SNBA is also considering taking a 40% stake in Rwandair Express (WB/Kigali). It will give up its Brussels-St. Petersburg route on October 3.

SN Brussels Airlines (SN/Brussels) is reportedly considering launching own operations to North America and additional African routes as part of its longhaul expansion plan. It is one of several carriers interested in bidding for a 51% stake in Cameroon Airlines (UY/Douala).

Flyjet (Y7/London Gatwick) will add an ex-Cameroon Airlines (UY/Douala) B767-200ER for longhaul charter flights.

Transaero Airlines (UN/Moscow Domodedovo) will lease an ex-Cameroon Airlines (UY/Douala) B767-200ER.

Astraeus (5W/London Gatwick) has leased an ex-Cameroon Airlines (UY/Douala) B757-200. It will also lease a B737-300 from Airwork (PST/Auckland) from April until the end of September.


12.03.2005

Astraeus (5W/London Gatwick) will lease an ex-Cameroon Airlines (UY/Douala) B757-200. It will also wet-lease an A319-100 from Lotus Air (TAS/Cairo) for the summer season. It will add an ex-Aegean Airlines (A3/Athens) B737-300 by the end of the month which it will operate on a wet-lease basis for Flybe. (BE/Exeter).

Inter Airlines (6K/Antalya) has wet-leased a B737-800 to Cameroon Airlines (UY/Douala).
