Cimber Sterling (QI/Sonderborg) is the new name of Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) after it has finalized plans to integrate some former Sterling Airlines B737-700s, staff and routes into its own previously more regionally focused operation. It has already added two ex-Sterling Airlines B737-700s and is planning to lease four additional aircraft later this year to resume a variety of former Sterling routes:
Aalborg-Malaga: weekly B737-700 service starting on February 28
Billund-Malaga: 3x weekly B737-700 service has already started earlier this month
Billund-Nice: 2x weekly B737-700 service starting on April 1
Billund-Rome Fiumicino: 2x weekly B737-700 service starting on March 3

Cimber Sterling is now also using B737-700s on some of its services from Copenhagen Kastrup to Aalborg and Karup as well as from Billund to London Gatwick and Oslo Gardermoen. It will however stop its services between Billund and Stavanger on March 28.

Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) has acquired some of the assets of bankrupt Sterling Airlines and is planning to resume limited operations with two B737s that will operate on behalf of Cimber Air on domestic services from Copenhagen to Aalborg and Karup on a wet-lease basis. It is planning to add additional B737s later for services to European destinations. Cimber has launched six times weekly CRJ-200 service from Billund to London Gatwick replacing Sterling on the route.

Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) will lease another ex-Malev (MA/Budapest) CRJ-200. Cimber will launch four times daily service between Copenhagen Kastrup and Aarhus on September 15 using a mix of ATR 42-500s, ATR 72-500s and CRJ-200s. It will give up its Billund-Berlin Tegel route on October 23 and its Copenhagen Kastrup-Bucharest Otopeni route on November 2.

Sun-Air (EZ/Billund) has suspended its Billund-Oslo Gardermoen route as a result of growing competition from Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) and Sterling Airlines (NB/Copenhagen Kastrup) on the route.

Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) has added an ex-Malev (MA/Budapest) CRJ-200 to its fleet. It will expand its operations from Norrköping and inaugurate two new routes:
Billund-Stavanger: 4x weekly CRJ-200 service starting on March 30
Norrköping-Helsini: 6x weekly CRJ-200 service starting on March 30
Norrköping-Munich: 2x daily CRJ-200 service starting on March 30

Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) has launched six times weekly CRJ-200 service from Copenhagen to Lyon on October 28. It has added a 13th ex-Lufthansa CityLine (CL/Cologne/Bonn) CRJ-200.
SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK/Copenhagen Kastrup) has decided to permanently phase out its Dash 8-400 after another incident involving a SAS Dash 8-400 aircraft in Copenhagen. Its subsidiary Wideroe has also phased out all Dash 8-400s and cancelled an outstanding order for an additional aircraft of the type. SAS has announced a lawsuit against Bombardier to cover the losses caused by flight cancellations and the disposal of its Dash 8 fleet. It has temporarily suspended its Copenhagen-J篫籩ng route until early January and has wet-leased various aircraft from Atlantic Airways (RC/Faroe Islands), Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg), DAT - Danish Air Transport (DX/Vamdrup), JetX (GX/Reykjavik Keflavik), Luxair (LG/Luxembourg), SAS Norge (BU/Oslo Gardermoen) and Spanair (JK/Palma de Mallorca) to replace its 27 Dash 8-400s. SAS has launched four times weekly B737-600/MD-82 service from Stockholm Arlanda to Bergen on November 7. In other news, SAS has converted options for two additional B737-800s into firm orders and has announced plans to lease another A340-300 to launch four times weekly service from Copenhagen to Delhi and three weekly Copenhagen-San Francisco services in November 2008. SAS has also entered into a codeshare agreement with Star Alliance partner South African Airways (SA/Johannesburg) to provide its passengers connections to South Africa.

Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) will launch daily CRJ-200 service from Billund to Berlin Tegel on August 1. It has recently added its 12th ex-Lufthansa CityLine (CL/Cologne/Bonn) CRJ-200.
Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) will inaugurate a weekly seasonal CRJ-200 service from Copenhagen via Odense to Nimes on September 1. It has added another ex-Lufthansa CityLine (CL/Cologne/Bonn) CRJ-100.

Swiftair (7J/Madrid Barajas) has added an ex-Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) ATR 72-200F freighter and two ex-Spirit Airlines (NK/Fort Lauderdale) MD-82s/83s to its fleet.

SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK/Copenhagen Kastrup) has taken delivery of its first of four A319-100s. It will give up its Copenhagen-Newcastle route on September 2. It will launch twice daily service from Copenhagen to Tampere on September 3 instead using CRJ-200s of partner Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) and own Dash 8-400s replacing SAS subsidiary Blue (KF/Helsinki) that will give up the route on the same date.

Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) will inaugurate six times weekly CRJ-200 service from Billund to Bergen on May 1. It will also operate a weekly seasonal ATR 72 service from Karup via Odense to Bologna Forli between May 13 and October 21.

Aer Arann (RE/Dublin) has taken delivery of an additional ex-Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) ATR 72-200 and has announced additional routes:
Cork-Angers: 3x weekly ATR 72-200 service starting on May 2
Cork-Jersey: weekly ATR 72-200 service starting on May 6
Dublin-Inverness: 4x weekly ATR 72-200 service starting on April 10
Galway-Liverpool: 4x weekly ATR 72-200 service starting on April 10
Manchester-Angers: 3x weekly ATR 72-200 service starting on May 2
Aer Arann will also add its first continental base in Liege and is planning to base two ATRs at the airport to launch the operation with routes to Birmingham, London Luton and Lorient.

Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) will operate a three times weekly seasonal service from Billund to Bornholm between May 26 and August 13 using a mix of CRJ-200s and ATR 72s.

Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) will give up its Kiel-Frankfurt route by the end of the month. It will replace SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK/Copenhagen Kastrup) on the Billund-Copenhagen route and operate up to six daily ATR 42-300 services as of January 6. Cimber Air has also added an ex-Contact Air (KI/Stuttgart) ATR 42-500.

Aer Arann (RE/Dublin) will shortly add an ex-Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) ATR 72-200 to its fleet. Aer Arann will launch twice daily ATR 42-300 service from the Isle of Man to London Luton on November 24. It will also add five weekly flights from Luton and two weekly services from Kerry County to Lorient on March 26.

SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK/Copenhagen Kastrup) will launch a daily flight between Copenhagen and Nuremberg on September 1 using CRJ-200s of Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg). It will also launch a twice daily Dash 8-400 service from Copenhagen to London City on October 30.
Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) will give up its Billund-Brussels route by the end of August.

SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK/Copenhagen Kastrup) will operate a twice weekly seasonal service from Copenhagen to Arvidsjaur between December 5 and March 24, 2006 using MD-82s. It will also launch a new twice daily service from Copenhagen to Luxembourg using Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) CRJ-200s on September 1.
