Travel Service Airlines (QS/Prague) has leased three additional ex-Fly Globespan, ex-GOL Transportes Aéreos (G3/Sao Paulo Congonhas) and ex-TUIfly (Germany) (X3/Hanover) B737-800s. It has wet-leased three A320-200s this summer season from Air Sweden (SNX/Stockholm Arlanda), Amsterdam Airlines (WD/Amsterdam) and Astraeus (5W/London Gatwick) as well as an additional B737-800 from Blue Air (Romania) (0B/Bucharest Baneasa). Travel Service itself has started operating one of its twelve B737-800s to Somon Air (4J/Dushanbe).
Travel Service Slovakia (TVQ/Bratislava) is a new subsidiary of Travel Service Airlines (QS/Prague) that has started operations from several Slovak airports on April 15 with a single B737-800 that has been transferred from its parent. In addition, it has wet-leased three A320-200s from sister carrier SmartLynx (6Y/Riga) for the summer charter season.
Trawel Fly (Milan Orio al Serio) has taken delivery of a B737-400 wet-leased from Mistral Air and has introduced new seasonal routes from its Milan Orio al Serio base:
Milan Orio al Serio-Kos: weekly seasonal B737-300 service until September 25 (operated by Astraeus (5W/London Gatwick))
Milan Orio al Serio-Lamezia Terme: weekly seasonal B737-300 service until September 3 (operated by Astraeus)
Milan Orio al Serio-Menorca-Ibiza-Milan Orio al Serio: weekly seasonal B737-300 service until September 12 (operated by Astraeus)
Milan Orio al Serio-Mykonos: weekly seasonal B737-300 service until September 3 (operated by Astraeus)
Milan Orio al Serio-Naples: 2x weekly seasonal B737-300 service until September 23 (operated by Astraeus)
Milan Orio al Serio-Pantelleria: weekly seasonal B737-300 service until September 18 (operated by Astraeus)

TUIfly (Germany) (X3/Hanover) has introduced new routes this summer season:
Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel-Dalaman: weekly B737-800 service (already launched)
Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel-Kerkyra: weekly B737-800 service (already launched)
It has temporarily suspended its services from Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel to Lanzarote and Tenerife Sur for the summer timetable period. TUIfly has added two ex-Air Berlin (AB/Berlin Tegel) B737-800s that it now operates on behalf of Air Berlin. Its parent TUI Travel has converted three orders for B737-800s into orders for B737-700s.
Turkish Airlines (TK/Istanbul Ataturk) is reportedly also interested in acquiring Star Alliance partner Croatia Airlines (OU/Zagreb) and ailing Serbian national carrier Jat Airways (JU/Belgrade). It has however given up plans to set-up a subsidiary in Macedonia as a new national carrier there. THY has ordered one additional A330-200, ten B737-800s and ten B737-900ERs for deliveries between 2011 and 2014 while also securing options for additional 15 B737NG aircraft. It has also announced plans to order either five A380-800s or B747-8s for long haul routes with high demand. It now operates a total of four B777-300ER on dry-lease from Jet Airways (9W/Mumbai), an A330-200 wet-leased from bmi british midland (BD/East Midlands) and has also leased three additional ex-Bahrain Air (2B/Bahrain) A320-200s. THY has again announced a wide range of new short and long haul routes from Istanbul:
Istanbul Atatürk-Adler/Sochi: 3x weekly A320-200/B737-400 service has started on May 25
Istanbul Atatürk-Alexandria Borg el Arab: 4x weekly A319-100 service has started on June 19 (moving to Alexandria El Nohza on November 1)
Istanbul Atatürk-Bangkok Suvarnabhumi-Ho Chi Minh City: 4x weekly A340-300 service starting on December 30 (adding Ho Chi Minh City as new destination)
Istanbul Atatürk-Denizli: 2x daily B737-700/-800 service resuming on September 1
Istanbul Atatürk-Entebbe-Dar es Salaam: 3x weekly A330-200 service has started on June 13
Istanbul Atatürk-Lagos-Accra: 4x weekly A330-200/A340-300 service has started on July 15 (adding Accra as new destination)
Istanbul Atatürk-Los Angeles: 4x weekly B777-300ER service starting on March 3, 2011
Istanbul Atatürk-Podgorica: 3x weekly A319-100 service has started on July 8
Istanbul Atatürk-Washington Dulles-Atlanta: 5x weekly A330-200 service starting on November 7
Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen-Brussels Ntl: 4x weekly seasonal A320-200 service has started on May 16
THY has however given up its routes from Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen to Berlin Schönefeld, Cologne/Bonn, Hanover and Stuttgart earlier this year. Turkish Airlines has also announced Guangzhou, Kuala Lumpur, Malaga, Manila, Melbourne Tullamarine, Toulouse and Valencia as new destinations that it is planning to add later this or next year. THY and Aeroflot (SU/Moscow Sheremetyevo) are reportedly considering setting up a joint subsidiary based on the business model of Sun Express (XQ/Antalya), the very successful joint venture with Lufthansa (LH/Frankfurt Intl). Turkish Airlines and Swiss (LX/Zurich) have signed a codeshare agreement covering the routes from Basle/Mulhouse, Geneva and Zurich to Istanbul Atatürk. It has also started codesharing on Air China (CA/Beijing) services between Beijing and Shanghai Pu Dong. In addition, THY has applied for permission to being codesharing with US Star Alliance partner US Airways (US/Phoenix).
Turkuaz Airlines (TRK/Istanbul Ataturk) is adding two ex-Skyservice Airlines A320-200s and is considering setting up a German subsidiary based in Dusseldorf and a domestic scheduled carrier based in Ankara.
Twin Jet (T7/Marseilles) has made use of the void left by Baboo (F7/Geneva) and has taken over two routes:
Geneva-Milan Malpensa: 2x daily Beech 1900 service has started on April 12
Marseilles-Geneva: 5x weekly Beech 1900 service has resumed on April 12
Tyrolean Airways (VO/Innsbruck) has retired its last CRJ-200 on April 30.
Ukraine International Airlines (PS/Kiev Borispol) has launched and announced new routes:
Donetsk-Dubrovnik: weekly seasonal B737-500 service between June 5 and September 18
Kiev Borispol-Brussels Ntl: 5x weekly B737-500 service resuming on September 20 (had been suspended since June 25)
Kiev Borispol-Donetsk: 2x daily B737-500 service has started on April 27
Kiev Borispol-Geneva: 3x weekly B737-500 service has started on April 28
Kiev Borispol-Split: weekly seasonal B737-500 service has started on May 4
Kiev Borispol-Tel Aviv Ben Gurion: 5x weekly B737-500 service has started on May 18
Lviv-Donetsk: 2x weekly B737-400 service has started on June 2
UIA will temporarily suspend its Lviv-Milan Malpensa route for the winter season as of October 3. It has signed a codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways (EY/Abu Dhabi Intl) covering the Kiev Borispol-Abu Dhabi Intl route flown by UIA and several destinations in the Middle East and Africa on Etihad services from Abu Dhabi. It has given up its short-lived cooperation with Wind Rose Aviation (7W/Kiev Borispol) that now has joined forces with UIA competitor Aerosvit Airlines (VV/Kiev Borispol). Austrian Airlines (OS/Vienna) has sold its 23% stake in UIA earlier this year.
UM Air (UF/Kiev Borispol) has wet-leased its first ex-Spanair (JK/Palma de Mallorca) MD-83 to Caspian Airlines (RV/Tehran Mehrabad). It has also leased a second MD-82 from Bukovyna Airlines (BQ/Chernovtsy).
Ural Airlines (U6/Ekaterinburg) has retired its last Tu-154B2s and now operates 2 A321-200s, 12 A320-200s and 4 Tu-154Ms. Two ex-USA3000 Airlines (U5/Philadelphia) A320-200s have been added this spring. It plans to continue its network expansion with seven additional A320 or A321 aircraft scheduled to be delivered until 2013. Ural is also considering adding either A330s or B767s to its fleet as well as ATR-42s for regional services. It has already introduced new routes this summer season:

It has signed codeshare agreements with Avia Traffic Company (Z7/Bishkek) and Kyrgyzstan Air Company (QH/Bishkek) for the Ekaterinburg-Bishkek services operated by both partner carriers. It has also signed a similar agreement with Scat (DV/Shimkent) that operates between Ekaterinburg and Astana.
UTair (UT/Khanty-Mansiysk) has added two ex-Finnair (AY/Helsinki) B757-200s for charter services and its first four ex-CSA Czech Airlines (OK/Prague) B737-400s. It has launched a variety of new services:
Moscow Vnukovo-Gelendzik: daily Tu-134 service has started on June 1
Moscow Vnukovo-Riga: daily CRJ-200 service has started on August 16
Moscow Vnukovo-Taganrog: 3x weekly ATR 42-300 service has started on May 17
Surgut-Chisinau: bi-weekly B737-500 service has started on May 2
Surgut-Tomsk-Barnaul: 2x weekly ATR 42-300 service has started on April 29 (replacing UTair-Express non-stop service to Barnaul)
Surgut-Yerevan: bi-weekly B737-500 service has started on May 9
Ufa-Khudzhand: weekly Tu-154M service has started on May 30
UTair-Express (UR/Syktyvkar) has launched new services in the Far East:
Irkutsk-Bodaybo: 6x weekly An-24 service has started on August 2
Irkutsk-Ust Kut: daily An-24 service has started on August 2
Its parent UTair (UT/Khanty-Mansiysk) has signed a cooperation agreement with the regional government of Kirov and is planning to take over scheduled services of Kirov Air Enterprise (KTA/Kirov) later this year with its employees and three An-24s being transferred to UTair-Express.
UTair-Ukraine (QU/Lugansk) has based a first ex-Olympic Airlines B737-400 at Kiev Borispol airport for charter services. It has launched daily ATR 42-300 service from Zaporozhye to Moscow Vnukovo on July 2.
Varsity Express (Oxford) has again given up its operations between Edinburgh and Oxford on March 8 after only 7 days.
V Bird Avia (VBD/Yerevan) is yet another new Armenian cargo carrier that has started operations with a single ex-Air Highnesses (HNS/Yerevan) Il-76.
Vertir Airlines (VRZ/Yerevan) has started cargo operations with a single ex-Elite Airlines (Athens) B747SRF freighter.
Viking Airlines (4P/Stockholm Arlanda) is considering setting up separate carriers in Poland and the UK. It currently operates three B737-300s and three own B737-800s as well three B737-800s wet-leased from Sunwing Airlines (WG/Toronto Pearson) on charter services mainly from Greece, Sweden and the UK.
Viking Hellas Aviation (VQ/Athens) has leased two ex-Windjet (IV/Catania) A320-200s. It has launched weekly A320-200 service from Amsterdam to Erbil on June 19 but has already given up again its route from Athens to Baghdad.
Vildanden (W2/Skien) will start using two Helitrans (9I/Trondheim) ATR 42-300s in addition to the Jetstream 32 wet-leased from the carrier already. The three aircraft will be used on its routes from Skien to Bergen and Stavanger and replaced an ATR 42-300 previously operated by DAT – Danish Air Transport (DX/Vamdrup).
