Alrosa Mirny Air Enterprise (6R/Mirny) has added a sixth ex-AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines (J2/Baku) Tu-154M.

AnadoluJet (TK/Ankara Esenboga) is adding two additional ex-Aeromexico (AM/Mexico City) B737-700s. It will then operate eight B737-700s, three B737-800s and two B737-400 (one each leased from Saga Airlines (SGX/Istanbul Ataturk) and Turkish Airlines (TK/Istanbul Ataturk)). Turkish Airlines is reportedly planning to spin off AnadoluJet into a separate company during 2010.

Andalus Lineas Aéreas (EA/Malaga) has returned two of its ERJ-145 to the lessors and now operates with a fleet of three ERJ-145s. It has announced new routes that will be added to its network in March:
Barcelona-Gibraltar: 6x weekly ERJ-145 service resuming on March 29
Barcelona-San Sebastian: 6x weekly ERJ-145 service starting on March 29
Girona-Menorca: 3x weekly ERJ-145 service starting on March 29
Madrid-San Sebastian: 6x weekly ERJ-145 service starting on March 29
Malaga-Casablanca: 3x weekly ERJ-145 service starting on March 28
Malaga-Lisbon: 3x weekly ERJ-145 service starting on March 28
It has however already terminated its routes from Barcelona to Tangiers, from Almeria and Reus to Nador and from Seville to Marrakech.

Arkaim (Ufa) is the name of the Ufa based start-up backed by the Bashkortostan regional government that is planning to start scheduled services later this year. Unlike previously reported by CH-Aviation, it seems that Air Bashkortostan (ZU/Ufa) will continue to operate scheduled charter services in cooperation with VIM Airlines (NN/Moscow Domodedovo).

Arke Fly (OR/Amsterdam) has launched weekly seasonal Amsterdam-Boa Vista-Sal-Amsterdam service on November 27. In other news, it will also operate a twice weekly seasonal B767-300ER service linking Amsterdam and Toronto Pearson between July 1 and September 2. It has wet-leased a B737-800 to Canjet Airlines (C6/Halifax) for the winter season.

Armavia (U8/Yerevan) will replace its current weekly non-stop Yerevan-Beirut service operated by CRJ-200s with a weekly triangle A319-100 flight from Yerevan via Beirut and Larnaca back to Yerevan as of February 23. It has also announced plans to add Bahrain and Delhi to its route network later in 2010 and is also considering launching longhaul services from Yerevan to Los Angeles and New York. The delivery of its first SuperJet SSJ 100-95 has been delayed until later this year.

Astraeus (5W/London Gatwick) had wet-leased two of its B757-200s to Saudi Arabian Airlines (SV/Jeddah) for the Hajj season. It has added two ex-Seagle Air B737-300s back to its fleet and has started operating one of the aircraft on behalf of Trawel Fly (Milan Orio al Serio) replacing a B737-700 previously operated on behalf of the Italian operator that has now been returned to the lessor.

Athens Airways (ZF/Athens) has returned three of its four ERJ-145s and has replaced them with two ATR 42-300s wet-leased from Hemus Air (DU/Sofia). It also uses a BAe 146-300 wet-leased from Astra Airlines (AZI/Thessaloniki). Athens Airways has reduced a lot of frequencies for the winter season on its existing routes but has also added a variety of new public service obligation routes that it has inherited from Olympic Airways for a temporary period until the routes are reawarded through a tender process on April 1:
Athens-Ikaria: 4x weekly ATR 42-300 service
Athens-Karpathos: 8x weekly ERJ-145 service
Athens-Kithira: 5x weekly ATR 42-300 service
Athens-Skiathos: 2x weekly ATR 42-300 service
Kavala-Mytilene: 2x weekly ERJ-145 service
Kerkyra-Preveza-Kefalonia-Zakinthos: 2x weekly ATR 42-300 service
Sitia-Alexandroupolis: 2x weekly ERJ-145 service
Sitia-Preveza: 2x weekly ERJ-145 service
Thessaloniki-Chios: 3x weekly ATR 42-300 service
Thessaloniki-Kerkyra: 5x weekly ATR 42-300/ERJ-145 service
Thessaloniki-Samos: 3x weekly ATR 42-300/ERJ-145 service
Athens Airways has given up its routes from Athens to Kastoria, Kefalonia, Kozani, Mykonos and Zakinthos.

Atlasjet Airlines (KK/Antalya) has added both ex-BestAir (5F/Istanbul Ataturk) A321-100s to its fleet and has wet-leased one of them to Cyprus Turkish Airlines (YK/Ercan). It has signed a cooperation agreement with El Al Israel Airlines (LY/Tel Aviv Ben Gurion) that will see Atlasjet start services between Istanbul Ataturk and Tel Aviv Ben Gurion and a bilateral codeshare agreement between the two carriers also offering connections to El Al passengers to other destinations in Turkey and for Atlasjet passengers via Tel Aviv to the El Al network. El Al had pulled out of Turkey some years ago.

Augsburg Airways (IQ/Augsburg) will lease two additional EMB-195s in fall 2010 that it will operate on behalf of Lufthansa (LH/Frankfurt Intl).

Aurela (LSK/Vilnius) has started operating one of its two B757-200s on behalf of Danish tour operator Scanway Travel out of Copenhagen. It has been awarded the contract on short notice after Fly Globespan has collapsed days before starting to operate on behalf of Scanway.

Austriair (Vienna) is a new start-up backed by Austrian charter operator MAP Jet (MPJ/Vienna) that is planning to start operations in spring with three EMB-195s offering twice daily flights from Vienna to Frankfurt Intl, Munich and Stuttgart. It has also announced plans to apply for traffic rights to serve destinations in Russia since Russian authorities are currently reviewing if Austrian Airlines (OS/Vienna) should still be considered as an Austrian flag carrier with the ability to use traffic rights between Austria and Russia given it is fully owned by Lufthansa (LH/Frankfurt Intl).

Austrian Airlines (OS/Vienna) has announced that it plans to sell its 22.5% stake in Ukraine International Airlines (PS/Kiev Borispol). It has announced new seasonal routes:
Graz-Antalya: weekly seasonal B737-800 service operating until March 5
Graz-Kos: weekly seasonal A321 service starting on May 26
Innsbruck-Dublin: 2x weekly seasonal B737-800 service operating until March 20
Innsbruck-Kefallinia: weekly seasonal Fokker 100 service starting on June 5 (operated by Tyrolean Airways (VO/Innsbruck))
Innsbruck-Preveza: weekly seasonal Fokker 100 service starting on June 6 (operated by Tyrolean Airways)
Linz-Antalya: weekly seasonal B737-800 service starting on February 12
Linz-Kerkyra-Graz-Linz: weekly seasonal B737-800 service starting on June 1
Vienna-Bologna Marconi-Florence: daily Fokker 70 service starting on February 28 (replacing non-stop service to Florence)
Austrian will give up its Vienna-Ekaterinburg and Vienna-Odessa routes on March 26 but will continue to codeshare on the daily Ukraine International service between Vienna and Odessa. It has already terminated its Vienna-Riyadh-Jeddah service on December 20. Austrian has suggested to the government that its domestic routes from Vienna to Graz, Klagenfurt and Linz should become public service obligation routes as it would not be able to continue to profitably operate these routes.

Avia Nova (AO/Moscow Sheremetyevo) has launched four times weekly A320-200 service from Moscow Vnukovo to Kazan on November 10. It has added a third ex-easyJet (U2/London Luton) A320-200 to its fleet.

Avion Express (X9/Vilnius) will give up its only scheduled passenger route from Stockholm Arlanda via Kramfors to Storuman on February 28 leaving Storuman without air service.

Ayjet (Istanbul Ataturk) has given up plans to add Dash 8-400s to its fleet and to operate scheduled services.

AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines (J2/Baku) is replacing its single A320-200 and two Tu-154Ms still used on scheduled services by four newer ex-Air Berlin (AB/Berlin Tegel) and ex-Belair Airlines (4T/Zurich) A320-200s.

B&H Airlines (JA/Sarajevo) is now planning to replace its B737-400 by two B737-700s in spring.

Baboo (F7/Geneva) will give up its Geneva-Naples route on March 26.

Belair Airlines (4T/Zurich) has gone through a change of ownership last quarter when Swiss tour operator and majority shareholder Hotelplan has sold its 51% stake in Belair to a trust in Switzerland. The remaining 49% are owned by Air Berlin (AB/Berlin Tegel) which also holds an option to take over the 51% from the new majority owner. Belair also has added a fifth ex-Air Berlin A320-200. It is adding some additional seasonal services that are still operated under the Belair AOC to non-EU countries:
Zurich-Bodrum: weekly seasonal A320-200 service starting on May 22
Zurich-Luxor-Sharm el Sheikh-Zurich: weekly A320-200 service (already launched)
Zurich-Monastir: weekly seasonal A320-200 service starting on May 8
