Iceland Express (HC, Reykjavik Keflavik (KEF)) has announced plans to resume services to the United States in summer 2013 annnouncing Boston General Edward Lawrence Logan International (BOS) as its first destination. The virtual low-cost carrier currently uses A320-200s from Holidays Czech Airlines (HCC, Prague Vaclav Havel Ruzyne (PRG)) for its its services from Iceland to Europe. It had previously served Boston, Chicago O'Hare International (ORD) and Winnipeg International (YWG) in North America until summer 2011 but had been forced to stop its flights there after the bankruptcy of sister carrier and previous wet-lease operator Astraeus (5W, London Gatwick (LGW)).

Air Niugini (PX, Port Moresby Jacksons (POM)) will shortly take delivery of its first ex-Astraeus (5W, London Gatwick (LGW)) B737-700 P2-PXD (MSN 28007) that is currently being prepared at Sofia International (SOF).

Eastern SkyJets (EE, Dubai International (DXB)) has added a first of two ex-Astraeus (5W, London Gatwick (LGW)) B737-300s (A6-ESG, MSN 25119) to its fleet that it mainly uses for scheduled charter services from the United Arab Emirates to Afghanistan and Iraq.

Travel Service Airlines (QS, Prague Vaclav Havel Ruzyne (PRG)) has leased a first ex-Astraeus (5W, London Gatwick (LGW)) B737-700 for its Smartwings (QS, Prague Vaclav Havel Ruzyne (PRG)) scheduled flights division replacing the last remaining B737-500.

Astraeus (5W, London Gatwick (LGW)) has suspended operations and been placed under administration on November 21. It had operated B737-300/500/-700 and B757-200 aircraft on wet-lease and charter contracts.
