Slovak Airlines (6Q, Bratislava Milan Rastislav Stefánik (BTS)) has been forced to stop operations in mid-January after its parent Austrian Airlines (OS/Vienna) has repossessed the Fokker 100 and B737-300 subleased to the carrier. Austrian claims the Slovak Republic government has failed to meet its obligations and take over some of debts of the formerly state owned carrier that is now expected to file for bankruptcy. Slovak Airlines had operated scheduled flights from Bratislava to Brussels and Moscow Sheremetyevo as well as charter services.

Austrian Airlines (OS, Vienna International (VIE)) is considering taking full control of Slovak Airlines (6Q/Bratislava). Its subsidiary Austrian arrows (VO/Innsbruck) will add five ex-Jetsgo Fokker 100s. AUA has signed a codeshare agreement with South African Airways (SA/Johannesburg) to offer its passengers connections to Johannesburg by codesharing on SAA's Zurich-Johannesburg route.

Slovak Airlines (6Q, Bratislava Milan Rastislav Stefánik (BTS)) has taken over a B737-300 from Lauda Air (NG/Vienna) and an ex-Helvetic Airways (2L/Zurich) Fokker 100 from Austrian arrows (VO/Innsbruck).

Slovak Airlines (6Q, Bratislava Milan Rastislav Stefánik (BTS)) will take over the Bratislava-Brussels route from its new parent Austrian Airlines (OS/Vienna) as of March 27 using an ex-Austrian arrows (VO/Innsbruck) Fokker 100. It will also lease an ex-Lauda Air (NG/Vienna) B737-300.
