Air Åland (N9, Mariehamn (MHQ)) has agreed with its aircraft operator Nextjet (2N, Stockholm Arlanda (ARN)) to transfer its twice weekdaily service between Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) and Mariehamn to Nextjet's own commercial responsibility from July 1. This leaves Air Åland with just a weekdaily round-trip between Mariehamn and Turku (TKU) which is also operated by Nextjet with a Saab 340A.

Nextjet (2N, Stockholm Arlanda (ARN)) has taken over the routes from Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) to Karlstad (KSD) and Växjö Smaland (VXO) left abandoned after the bankruptcy of Skyways (JZ, Stockholm Arlanda (ARN)). It currently serves both destinations up to four times daily with Saab 340s. Nextjet currently operates four Bae ATPs and seven Saab 340As and four Saab 340Bs on its own routes and on behalf of Air Åland (N9, Mariehamn (MHQ)) and Sverigeflyg but plans to add up to six additional aircraft until the end of the summer to allow it to launch more domestic and regional routes.

Air Åland (N9, Mariehamn (MHQ)) will add an ex-Flamingo Airlines (F7/Nairobi Intl) Saab 340.

Air Åland (N9, Mariehamn (MHQ)) is using a Saab 340 wet-leased from Nordic Solutions Air (Vilnius) for its Mariehamn-Helsinki route.

Air Åland (N9, Mariehamn (MHQ)) will start four times daily Saab 340 service between Mariehamn and Helsinki on October 30. Twice weekdaily service between Mariehamn and Turku will be added in early January 2006.
