  • Read More 28SEP2012: Uni Air to first ATR 72-600s to Kinmen and Taitung
    Uni Air (B7, Taipei Sung Shan (TSA)) has taken delivery of its first ATR 72-600 B-17001 (c/n 1044) on September 27. It plans to initially use the aircraft on domestic routes from its homebase at Taipei Sung Shan to Kinmen (KNH) and Taitung Fengnin (TTT) from October 11 according to Airline Route. Uni Air will gradually replace its eight Dash 8-300s used on domestic services by ten ATR 72-600s.

    EVA Air (BR, Taipei Taoyuan International (TPE)) has placed a firm order for ten A321-200s with Airbus Industrie (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac (TLS)) with the first aircraft already scheduled to be delivered by the end of the year. The new A321s will replace 11 MD-90s currently operated by EVA Air and its subsidiary Uni Air (B7, Taipei Sung Shan (TSA)). It has also signed an agreement with Star Alliance to become a full member of the alliance by mid 2013. At the occation of signing the membership agreement, it has also confirmed earlier press reports about its intention to add more B777-300(ER)s to its fleet. It plans to order seven additional aircraft that will replace its B747-400(M) fleet of four aircraft between 2014 and 2016.
