Strategic Airlines (Luxembourg) (SH, Luxembourg) has suspended its charter operations with three A320-200s on October 3 and has entered administration. This follows the loss of a charter contract with one of its key customers, UK tour operator Olympic Holidays. Besides its charter flights for tour operators, Strategic had also regularly operated on a wet-lease basis on behalf of other European airlines. Strategic's sister carrier in Australia, Air Australia (VC, Brisbane Int'l), had already been forced to suspend operations earlier this year due to financial difficulties as well.

Our Airline (ON, Nauru) has started operating three weekly B737-300 services between Perth Int'l and Derby Curtin in cooperation with Skywest Airlines (Australia) (XR, Perth Int'l) which has taken over the route from bankrupt Air Australia (VC, Brisbane Int'l) and also operates two weekly services with Fokker 100s on the route.

Air Australia (VC, Brisbane Int'l) has been forced to suspend all operations and appoint administrators on February 17. It had operated three A320-200s and two A330-200s, one wet-leased from Atlasjet Airlines (KK, Antalya), on services within Australia but also to Denpasar, Honolulu and Phuket. Its sister carrier Strategic Airlines (Luxembourg) (SH, Luxembourg) seems unaffected so far and is continuing charter operations with three A320-200s.
