08MAY2013: Indonesia's Garuda to firm options for 18 additional CRJ-1000s
Garuda Indonesia (GA, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International (CGK)) plans to firm its options for eighteen CRJ-1000s with Bombardier (BBA, Montréal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International (YUL)) bringing its CRJ1000 fleet to thirty-six. The options are part of a deal for 6+18 CRJ1000s signed with the Canadian manufacturer during the Singapore Airshow in February 2012. 12 additional CRJ-1000s are being leased from lessor Nordic Aviation Capital. Confirming the move, Garuda President and CEO, Emirsyah Satar, said that operating the Bombardier CRJ1000 NextGen is part of the airline’s "Quantum Leap 2011–2015" program which aims to rejuvenate and expand the Indonesian national carrier's fleet from 94 to 194 aircraft by 2015.

Shanghai Airlines (FM, Shanghai Hongqiao International (SHA)) has deployed its first two A330-200s into active service. The aircraft, B-6545 (c/n 1291) and B-6546 (c/n 1303), were transferred from the carrier's parent, China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao International (SHA)), and are the airline's first Airbus Industrie (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac (TLS)) aircraft, having previously operated a mix of exclusively Bombardier (BBA, Montréal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International (YUL)) and Boeing (BOE, Chicago O'Hare International (ORD)) aircraft. Shanghai currently continues to operate the two A330-200s on behalf of China Eastern.
23APR2013: RwandAir signs up for one Bombardier Q400NG in dual-class configuration
RwandAir (WB, Kigali Kanombe (KGL)) has signed a firm purchase agreement worth USD33million with Canada's Bombardier (BBA, Montréal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International (YUL)) for the delivery of one Dash 8-400 to be configured in a dual class configuration. The Rwandan national carrier intends to use the new turboprops to replace its ageing fleet of two Dash 8-100s, currently wet-leased to ply domestic and close regional flights.
17APR2013: Porter Airlines also get options for six additional Dash 8-400s
Porter Airlines (PD, Toronto Billy Bishop City Centre (YTZ)) has signed included purchase rights for six additional Dash 8-400s as part of its conditional purchase agreement with Canadian manufacturer Bombardier (BBA, Montréal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International (YUL)) for twelve CS100 jets signed last week. Porter currently already operates a fleet of 26 Dash 8-400s.
11APR2013: Porter confirms $2.08billion deal with Bombardier for 30 CSeries Jets
Porter Airlines (PD, Toronto Billy Bishop City Centre (YTZ)) has officially confirmed an order for 30 Bombardier (BBA, Montréal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International (YUL)) CSeries 100 jets valued at US$2.08billion, with delivery due to begin in 2016. The order for 12 CSeries jets is valued at US$870 million at list prices, with options for another 18 aircraft bringing the total to USD$2.08 billion. Porter also has options for six Dash 8-400s, taking the total order value to USD$2.29 billion. However, the deal hinges on the successful appeal of regulations prohibiting the operation of scheduled commercial jet flights out of Porter's Toronto base, as well as extensions to the airport's paltry 1'219m long runway. The CSeries Jets would allow Porter to expand into the regional market with flights to Vancouver International (YVR), Edmonton International (YEG), Calgary International (YYC), Winnipeg International (YWG), Los Angeles International (LAX), Florida and the Caribbean.
