30MAR2013: CityLine to retire CRJ-700 fleet as part of Lufthansa regional fleet plans?
Lufthansa CityLine (CL, Cologne/Bonn Konrad Adenauer (CGN)) could replace its fleet of twenty CRJ-700 regional jets with larger aircraft as part of parent Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International (FRA)) plans to change its regional operations. Lufthansa has already announced plans to remove all 70-seat turboprops from its operations by ending its wet-lease agreement with Augsburg Airways (IQ, Munich Franz Josef Strauss International (MUC)) in general and retiring the ATR72-500s at subsidiary Air Dolomiti (EN, Verona Villafranca (VRN)). It is now also studying the potential replacement of CityLine's CRJ-700s by additional larger regional jets.

09DEC2012: Air Dolomiti to drop ATR 72-500 fleet, cut 116 jobs
Air Dolomiti (EN, Verona Villafranca (VRN)) plans to withdraw its entire fleet of 11 ATR 72-500s from use replacing them with the five new EMB-195s it has started adding to its existing fleet of five EMB-195s. The Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International (FRA)) owned regional carrier has just recently taken delivery of its sixth EMB-195 I-ADJP (c/n 19000578). As part of the transition, 116 jobs are expected to be cut at Air Dolomiti. Lufthansa had already previously announced the cancellation of its wet-lease agreement with Augsburg Airways (IQ, Munich Franz Josef Strauss International (MUC)) effective October 2013 leaving it without turboprop aircraft operated by its regional carriers by then. From January 2013, Air Dolomiti will again start operating routes from Munich Franz Josef Strauss International (MUC) to Bari Karol Wojtyla International (BRI), Florence Peretola (FLR), Venice Marco Polo Tessera (VCE) and Verona Villafranca (VRN) and between Frankfurt International (FRA) and Verona Villafranca (VRN) under its own flight numbers with Lufthansa just codesharing on these routes replacing the current wet-lease agreement.

26OCT2012: Lufthansa cancels Augsburg Airways wet-lease agreement
Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International (FRA)) has reportedly cancelled its wet-lease agreement with regional partner Augsburg Airways (IQ, Munich Franz Josef Strauss International (MUC)) from the end of the next IATA summer timetable period on October 26, 2013. Augsburg Airways currently operates ten Dash 8-400s and five EMB-195s on behalf of Lufthansa under the Lufthansa Regional brand.
