12APR2013: Air France-KLM in talks with 2-3 serious bidders interested in Cityjet
Cityjet (WX, Dublin International (DUB)) has received "very positive feedback" from the market as parent Air France-KLM is currently in negotiations with "two or three" interested bidders regarding the sell off of its Irish subsidiary. According to a report by the Irish Times, two of the bidders have been identified as ASL Aviation Group and Intro Aviation. ASL controls cargo operator Air Contractors (AG, Dublin International (DUB)), French cargo and charter airline Europe Airpost (5O, Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG)) and South African cargo and ACMI specialist Safair (FA, Johannesburg Oliver Reginald Tambo International (JNB)). Intro Aviation owns a majority stake in Austrian regional carrier InterSky (3L, Friedrichshafen Bodensee (FDH)) and is also said to be one of the bidders for a stake in Adria Airways (JP, Ljubljana Joze Pucnik (LJU)). Cityjet CEO Christine Ourmières said "she is impressed with the calibre" of bidders who have so far submitted proposals, all of whom have grand long-term plans for the company. At present, CityJet operates an ageing fleet of nineteen ARJ-85s, twelve Fokker 50s wet-leased from VLM (VG, Antwerp Deurne (ANR)) and two Do328-100s wet-leased from Suckling Airways (CB, Cambridge (CBG)) on routes on behalf of Air France (AF, Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG)), KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS)) and on an own network from London City (LCY), though Ms Ourmières has pointed out that any future fleet and route network renewal plans would depend entirely on the airline's new owner. Air France-KLM is expected to issue an announcement on the future home of Cityjet this summer.

16JAN2013: TNT Express acquisition by UPS cancelled
TNT Airways (3V, Liège Bierset (LGG)) will likely continue to operate as it does today along with Spanish subsidiary Pan Air (PV, Madrid Barajas (MAD)) after UPS has announced that it has given up plans to acquire logistics competitor TNT Express. UPS expects the European Commission to not approve the proposed transaction that would have eliminated one of four major competitors in the European express freight and logistics market leaving just DHL, FedEx and UPS. UPS had previously offered the European Commission to sell TNT Airways and Pan Air to Dublin based ASL Aviation Group which already owns Air Contractors (AG, Dublin International (DUB)), Europe Airpost (5O, Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG)) and Safair (FA, Johannesburg Oliver Reginald Tambo International (JNB)).

18NOV2012: TNT Airways and Pan Air to be sold to ASL Aviation Group
TNT Airways (3V, Liège Bierset (LGG)) and its sister carrier Pan Air (PV, Madrid Barajas (MAD)) will be sold to Dublin based ASL Aviation Group as part of the proposed acquisition of logistics provider TNT Express by UPS (United Parcel Service). The European Commission had asked for the two TNT Express owned cargo carriers to be sold as part of the conditions required to approve the proposed deal given UPS already fully owns in-house cargo carrier UPS Airlines (5X, Louisville Standiford International (SDF)). ASL currently already owns Air Contractors (AG, Dublin International (DUB)), Europe Airpost (5O, Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG)) and Safair (FA, Johannesburg Oliver Reginald Tambo International (JNB)) and is expected to continue to operate cargo services on behalf of UPS if the plan goes ahead. Pan Air currently operates six Bae 146-200(QT)s and two Bae 146-300(QT)s while TNT Airways operates two Bae 146-200(QT)s, five Bae 146-300(QT)s, four B737-300(F)s, nine B737-400(F)s, four B747-400(F)s and three B777-Fs on behalf of TNT Express, mainly from its hub at Liège Bierset (LGG). Two of the four B747-400ERF freighters are currently wet-leased to Emirates (EK, Dubai International (DXB)) operating for Emirates SkyCargo from Dubai International (DXB). TNT Airways also operates a single B757-200(F) on behalf of NATO (Geilenkirchen (GKE)).
