Minoan Air (MAV, Heraklion Nikos Kazantzakis (HER)) has announced a major change to its strategy and will give up its domestic flights in Greece from January 21 where it currently operates from its main base at Heraklion to Kos (KGS), Mytilene (MJT), Rhodes Diagoras/Maritsa (RHO) and Santorini (JTR). It will instead base one of its Fokker 50s at Oxford Kidlington (OXF) from March 4 with a second Fokker 50 to follow from May 10. It plans to offer up to twice daily services from Oxford to both Dublin International (DUB) and Edinburgh (EDI). In other news, Minoan has also announced plans to base a Fokker 50 at Lugano Agno (LUG) from March 28 to launch daily flights to Rome Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci International (FCO) (replacing Darwin Airline (F7, Lugano Agno (LUG)) on the route which has recently stopped its services) and a three times weekly service to Vienna International (VIE). The Greek regional carrier's fourth Fokker 50 SX-BRM (c/n 20207) is currently operating on behalf of Flyglinjen (Jönköping (JKG)) between Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) and Kristianstad (KID).

Flyglinjen (Jönköping (JKG)) has announced plans to launch its third route from its homebase at Jönköping to Copenhagen Kastrup (CPH). This will be the first international route served by the virtual carrier that uses aircraft chartered from other carriers including a Fokker 50 from Minoan Air (MAV, Heraklion Nikos Kazantzakis (HER)), a Saab 340A from Skytaxi (TE, Wroclaw Copernicus (WRO)) and a Jetstream 32 from Avies (U3, Tallinn Ülemiste (TLL)). For the twice weekdaily service to Copenhagen Flyglinjen will use a Jetstream 32 from AIS Airlines (Netherlands) (IS, Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS)).

It currently operates four Fokker 50s on scheduled services from its homebase at Heraklion to Kos (KGS), Mytilene (MJT), Rhodes Diagoras/Maritsa (RHO) and Santorini (JTR) as well as wet-leases on behalf of GoodFly (Burgos (RGS)) and Flyglinjen (Jönköping (JKG)). It plans to operate from Oxford to Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS), Copenhagen Kastrup (CPH), Dublin International (DUB), Edinburgh (EDI) and Munich Franz Josef Strauss International (MUC).

Flyglinjen (Jönköping (JKG)) will wet-lease a Fokker 50 from Greek charter carrier Minoan Air (MAV, Heraklion Nikos Kazantzakis (HER)) from October 22 for its route from Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) to Kristianstad (KID). It currently uses Saab 340A SP-MRC (MSN 340A-143) wet-leased from Skytaxi (TE, Wroclaw Copernicus (WRO)) on the route and will move the aircraft to Jönköping (JKG) for its route from there to Stockholm Bromma (BMA) currently operated with a Jetstream 32 from Avies (U3, Tallinn Ülemiste (TLL)).

AIS Airlines (Netherlands) (IS, Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS)) has wet-leased one of its two Jetstream 32s to Flyglinjen (Jönköping (JKG)) in Sweden to operate two weekdaily roundtrips between Jönköping (JKG) and Stockholm Arlanda (ARN). Flyglinjen is a virtual airline without an own air operator certificate also using another Jetstream 32 operated by Avies (U3, Tallinn Ülemiste (TLL)) and a Saab 340A operated by Skytaxi (TE, Wroclaw Copernicus (WRO)) for domestic services in Sweden.
