Gir Jet (8G, Barcelona El Prat) has lost its air operator certificate and has suspended operations. It had operated several Fokker 100s, two B757-200s and a B747-200F freighter on charter services.

Pyrenair (Huesca) has wet-leased a Fokker 100 from Gir Jet (8G/Barcelona) to start operations.

Gir Jet (8G, Barcelona El Prat) is planning to launch long-haul cargo operations with two ex-Martinair (MP/Amsterdam) B747-200F freighters from Zaragoza to South Africa and the United States.

Gir Jet (8G, Barcelona El Prat) has leased a second ex-Icelandair (FI/Reykjavik Keflavik) B757-200.

Spanair has also signed a codeshare agreement with Air One (AP/Rome Fiumicino) for the Barcelona-Turin route, Air One has placed its codes on several domestic services in Spain in return.
