07NOV2012: New investors planning to revive City Airline operation from Gothenburg
City Airline (CF, Gothenburg Landvetter (GOT)) is considering relaunching regional operations from its previous base at Gothenburg Landvetter (GOT) operating on some of the routes left unserved since it and its sister carrier Skyways (JZ, Stockholm Arlanda (ARN)) had been forced to file for bankruptcy in May of this year. New investors now plan to revive the regional carrier and to build up a fleet of up to seven ERJ-145s by the end of next year.

04NOV2012: Estonian government replaces Estonian Air CEO, stops expansion plans
Estonian Air (OV, Tallinn Ülemiste (TLL)) will give up its network expansion plans and concentrate on point to point traffic from Tallinn Ülemiste (TLL) going forward again. Its supervisory council, controlled by the Estonian government controlling the majority of shares in Estonian Air, has replaced CEO Tero Taskila by former Skyways (JZ, Stockholm Arlanda (ARN)) CEO Jan Palmér with immediate effect. It has also announced that as part of the strategy change, Estonian will terminate its feeder services from Tallinn to Helsinki Vantaa (HEL), Joensuu (JOE) and Tartu Ülenurme (TAY) on different dates between December 21 and January 27. It will also not launch previously announced new routes to Gothenburg Landvetter (GOT) and London City (LCY) and not resume flights to Riga International (RIX) and Tbilisi Lochini (TBS).

08AUG2012: Swedish start-up Sky4u set-up by former Cimber/Skyways management
Sky4u (Stockholm Arlanda (ARN)) is a new regional start-up carrier backed by the former management team of Cimber Sterling (QI, Sønderborg (SGD)) and Skyways (JZ, Stockholm Arlanda (ARN)). While not much is yet known about the new carrier, its managing director is former Skyways MD Mikael Wångdahl and its chairman former Cimber Sterling CEO Jan Palmér.

27JUL2012: Flyglinjen to take over vacant Skyways route to Kristianstad with Saab 340
Flyglinjen (Jönköping (JKG)) will resume scheduled services to Kristianstad (KID) from August 20 using a Saab 340A wet-leased from Polish carrier Skytaxi (TE, Wroclaw Copernicus (WRO)). It will operate from Kristianstad to Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) up to three times daily, the airport had lost its only air service when Skyways (JZ, Stockholm Arlanda (ARN)) went bankrupt in May. Flyglinjen had previously announced plans to use the Saab 340 on its new route from its base at Jönköping (JKG) to Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) but will now serve both Stockholm Bromma (BMA) and Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) from there with Avies (U3, Tallinn Ülemiste (TLL)) Jetstream 32s.

Direktflyg (HS, Borlänge/Falun (BLE)) has wet-leased Do328-100 G-CCGS (c/n 3101) for its new Gothenburg Landvetter (GOT) - Sundsvall-Härnösand Midlanda (SDL) route starting on June 4 replacing Skyways (JZ, Stockholm Arlanda (ARN)) on the route.
