Strategic Airlines (Luxembourg) (SH, Luxembourg Findel International (LUX)) has suspended its charter operations with three A320-200s on October 3 and has entered administration. This follows the loss of a charter contract with one of its key customers, UK tour operator Olympic Holidays. Besides its charter flights for tour operators, Strategic had also regularly operated on a wet-lease basis on behalf of other European airlines. Strategic's sister carrier in Australia, Air Australia (VC, Brisbane International (BNE)), had already been forced to suspend operations earlier this year due to financial difficulties as well.

Air Australia (VC, Brisbane International (BNE)) has been forced to suspend all operations and appoint administrators on February 17. It had operated three A320-200s and two A330-200s, one wet-leased from Atlasjet Airlines (KK, Antalya (AYT)), on services within Australia but also to Denpasar Ngurah Rai Bali International (DPS), Honolulu International (HNL) and Phuket International (HKT). Its sister carrier Strategic Airlines (Luxembourg) (SH, Luxembourg Findel International (LUX)) seems unaffected so far and is continuing charter operations with three A320-200s.

Strategic Airlines (Luxembourg) (SH, Luxembourg Findel International (LUX)) has launched charter and ACMI services with an ex-SmartLynx (6Y/Riga) A320-200 in October 2010. It has then added the two A320-200s previously operated by Strategic Airlines (France) that had been forced to cease operations on September 15 after its operating license had been withdrawn by the French civil aviation authority.
