18MAR2013: Air Indus takes delivery of two B737-300s ahead of launch
Air Indus (I6, Karachi Quaid-e-Azam Jinnah International (KHI)) has added its first two aircraft, two ex-Air Nigeria (VK, Lagos Murtala Muhammad (LOS)) B737-300s (MSNs 27469 and 27910) to its fleet ahead of its planned launch of domestic scheduled operations. It is in the process of acquiring a third aircraft required to meet the minimum certification requirements in Pakistan. Air Indus plans to operate from Karachi to Bahawalpur (BHV), Dera Ghazi Khan (DEA), Faisalabad Lyallpur International (LYP), Islamabad Chaklala Benazir Bhutto International (ISB), Lahore Allama Iqbal International (LHE), Multan International (MUX), Peshawar (PEW) and Quetta (UET) with its fleet of B737-300s once certified.

14FEB2013: Azman Air plans domestic flights in Nigeria
Azman Air (Kano Mallam Aminu International (KAN)) is planning to launch scheduled domestic flights in Nigeria from July with several ex-Air Nigeria (VK, Lagos Murtala Muhammad (LOS)) B737-300s and B737-400s. According to its old website it plans to initially operate between Abuja Nnamdi Azikiwe International (ABV), Kano Mallam Aminu International (KAN) and Lagos Murtala Muhammad (LOS).

09SEP2012: Air Nigeria management decides to close down operations from September 10
Air Nigeria (VK, Lagos Murtala Muhammad (LOS)) has announced that its management team has taken the final decision to close down remaining operations from September 10. It had its air operator certificate suspended on June 21 due to its financial difficulties but had continue to operate a four times weekly A330-200 service between Lagos Murtala Muhammad (LOS) and London Gatwick (LGW) with an aircraft wet-leased from EgyptAir (MS, Cairo International (CAI)). Air Nigeria's management team mentioned "staff disloyalty" and "environmental tension" as the key reasons for not trying to pursue a resumption of its operations under an own AOC.

24AUG2012: Air Nigeria suspended from IATA's Billing and Settlement Plan
Air Nigeria (VK, Lagos Murtala Muhammad (LOS)) has been suspended from IATA's BSPs around the world effective immediately. The Billing and Settlement Plans in each country allow travel agents to issue tickets of various carriers and paying for these tickets through IATA. Air Nigeria still continues to operate a four times weekly service between Lagos Murtala Muhammad (LOS) and London Gatwick (LGW) with an A330-200 wet-leased from EgyptAir (MS, Cairo International (CAI)). All of its other operations have now been grounded for over two months since June 21 when the Nigerian civil aviation authority had suspended its air operator certificate due to "financial distress".

Air Nigeria (VK, Lagos Murtala Muhammad (LOS)) has lost four of its B737-300 aircraft this week after GECAS has repossessed 5N-VNC (MSN 29338), 5N-VND (29337), 5N-VNE (29340) and 5N-VNJ (28558) as also confirmed by Air Nigeria which still remains grounded.
