08FEB2013: Swiss replaces OLT Fokker 100s by Lufthansa B737-500
Swiss (LX, Zurich) has temporarily wet-leased B737-500 D-ABIH (MSN 24821) from parent Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt Int'l) until the end of March to replace the capacity lost due to the bankrupty of its German wet-lease partner OLT Express Germany (OL, Bremen Neuenland). Swiss had wet-leased two Fokker 100s from OLT. The Lufthansa B737-500 is currently based at Stuttgart Echterdingen operating two daily flights to Zurich and from there to Warsaw Chopin with some weekend flights to Birmingham Int'l also scheduled.

06FEB2013: bmi regional takes over Bremen-Toulouse OLT route
bmi regional (BM, Aberdeen Dyce) has announced the launch of a new five times weekly ERJ-145 service between Bremen Neuenland and Toulouse Blagnac from March 4 replacing bankrupt OLT Express Germany (OL, Bremen Neuenland) on the route. Germania (ST, Berlin Tegel) had previously also publicly shown interest in taking over the route which has mainly been served by OLT because of demand by EADS and its suppliers. bmi regional had just recently announced a new route from Birmingham Int'l to Toulouse and also already operates some corporate shuttle flights on behalf of EADS.

01FEB2013: OLT Express Germany files for bankruptcy
OLT Express Germany (OL, Bremen Neuenland) has filed for bankruptcy at a local court in Esslingen on Tuesday, January 29. It had already ceased all flight operations two days earlier with approximately 500 employees based in Bremen, Saarbrücken and Stuttgart being affected by the bankruptcy filing.

29JAN2013: InterSky takes over OLT route from Karlsruhe to Hamburg
InterSky (3L, Friedrichshafen) will take over the Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden – Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel route from defunct OLT Express Germany (OL, Bremen Neuenland) by early March 2013. The route will be served up to four times daily with an aircraft operated by German ACMI specialist Avanti Air (ATV, Siegen). InterSky has signed a 12 month contract with Avanti Air for the aircraft. The two carriers had already previously worked together in 2010 when InterSky had wet-leased an ATR 42-300 from Avanti for its Friedrichshafen-Dusseldorf Int'l route.

27JAN2013: OLT Express Germany ceases operations
OLT Express Germany (OL, Bremen Neuenland) has ceased operations in the evening of Sunday, January 27 after talks with its Dutch owner Panta Holdings about a reorganization plan failed. In December 2012, OLT Express Germany had already announced major cuts to its network and fleet as part of its first reorganization. OLT had operated a fleet of 10 Fokker 100s, 3 Saab 2000s and 1 Saab 340A with an average age of 19.2 years on regional routes from Bremen, Dresden, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, Münster/Osnabrück and Saarbrücken. It had also operated two of its Fokker 100s on a wet-lease agreement for Swiss (LX, Zurich).
