Air Europa (UX, Palma de Mallorca Son Sant Joan (PMI)) plans to lease two ex-Orbest (Spain) (IP, Palma de Mallorca Son Sant Joan (PMI)) A330-300s to increase its own flights to the Caribbean following the bankruptcy of Orbest and its tour operator parent Orizonia. Air Europa, itself owned by Spain's largest tourism group Globalia, will use the two aircraft to increase capacity on long-haul routes with a strong leisure focus from Madrid Barajas (MAD) to Cancún International (CUN), Havana José Marti International (HAV) and Punta Cana International (PUJ). After having already added another ex-Orbest A330-200, Air Europa will operate a total of 13 long-haul aircraft from this summer season, 11 A330-200s and the two A330-300s.

Arke Fly (OR, Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS)) has entered into a charter agreements with tour operators TUI Ireland and Thomas Cook Ireland to operate charter services from Cork International (ORK) and Shannon International (SNN) to Spain as of early May replacing bankrupt Orbest (Spain) (IP, Palma de Mallorca Son Sant Joan (PMI)) which had operated these flights in recent years. The flights, which will operate using an Air Explore (ED, Bratislava Milan Rastislav Stefánik (BTS)) B737-400, will be operating through the end of October serving Lanzarote Arrecife (ACE), Las Palmas Gran Canaria International (LPA), Malaga Pablo Ruiz Picasso (AGP), Palma de Mallorca Son Sant Joan (PMI) and Reus (REU).

Orbest (Spain) (IP, Palma de Mallorca Son Sant Joan (PMI)) has transferred its two remaining A320-200s EC-KYZ (c/n 3758) and EC-LLX (c/n 4735) from the Spanish airline to its Portuguese sister carrier Orbest (Portugal) (4O, Lisbon Portela de Sacavem (LIS)). The wet-lease of A330-300 EC-LEQ (c/n 1097) with PAL Airlines (5P, Santiago de Chile Arturo Merino Benítez International (SCL)) has now ended leaving the Orizonia subsidiary without active aircraft. Orbest's fleet in Portugal now includes the two A320-200s and A330-300 CS-TRH (c/n 833) operating on a wet-lease contract for Conviasa (V0, Caracas Simón Bolívar International (CCS)).

Air Europa (UX, Palma de Mallorca Son Sant Joan (PMI)) has taken over four domestic routes from Orbest (Spain) (IP, Palma de Mallorca Son Sant Joan (PMI)) that have been cancelled as a result of Orbest's financial troubles. It now operates weekly B737-800 services from Tenerife Sur (TFS) to Alicante (ALC), Vigo (VGO) and Zaragoza (ZAZ) and from Lanzarote Arrecife (ACE) to Zaragoza.

Orbest (Spain) (IP, Palma de Mallorca Son Sant Joan (PMI)) has returned four of its six A320-200s to the lessors by the end of February and continues limited short-haul charter operations with its remaining two A320-200s. It has also terminated its own long-haul charter operations with A330-300 EC-JHP (c/n 670) on February 20 already. The carrier owned by financially ailing Spanish tour operator Orizonia however continues to operate its other A330-300 EC-LEQ (c/n 1097) on a wet-lease contract on behalf of PAL Airlines (5P, Santiago de Chile Arturo Merino Benítez International (SCL)) while Portuguese subsidiary Orbest (Portugal) (4O, Lisbon Portela de Sacavem (LIS)) also still operates its A330-300 CS-TRH (c/n 833) on behalf of Conviasa (V0, Caracas Simón Bolívar International (CCS)) between Madrid Barajas (MAD) and Caracas Simón Bolívar International (CCS).
