PAWA Dominicana (7Y, Santo Domingo Las Américas) has been forced to suspend operations by the end of January because of unpaid landing fees at all airports in the Dominican Republic. Its sister carrier Aserca Airlines (R7, Caracas Simón Bolivar) is also no longer able to serve the country as a result of the situation. PAWA has been founded in 2003 and operated two DC-9-30s and a MD-82 as well two Jetstream 31 turboprops on domestic and regional routes.
