08MAY2013: SAA Cargo set to wet-lease a B737-400(F) from Slovenia's Solinair
South African Airways (SA, Johannesburg Oliver Reginald Tambo International (JNB)) has wet-leased a B737-400(F), S5-ABV (c/n 1715), from Slovenia's Solinair (SOP, Portoroz (POW)). The aircraft will enter operational service for the carrier's cargo division, SAA Cargo. In addition to using the belly-hold space on SAA's passenger flights, SAA Cargo's dedicated-fleet consists of two B737-200(F)s and two B737-300(F)s which it uses for both domestic and regional operations.

10APR2013: Solinair's wet lease deal with Nigeria's Airstream Aviation falls through
Solinair (SOP, Portoroz (POW)) has taken back its B737-400(F) (S5-ABV / MSN 24128) that was wet leased to Airstream Aviation (Abuja Nnamdi Azikiwe International (ABV)) after the latter failed to pay its leasing fees on time. The aircraft had been in use with the Nigerian cargo operator since December 2012 and was based out of Lagos Murtala Muhammad (LOS).

Airstream Aviation (Abuja Nnamdi Azikiwe International (ABV)) has launched scheduled cargo operations on domestic routes and ad-hoc charter flights with B737-400(F) S5-ABV (MSN 24128) wet-leased from Slovenian cargo operator Solinair (SOP, Portoroz (POW)). The aircraft has been fully painted in Airstream Aviation colors for the operation. Airstream is a consultancy company headquartered both at Dubai Jebel Ali Al Maktoum International (DWC) and Abuja.

Solinair (SOP, Portoroz (POW)) has added a first ex-Hola Airlines B737-400F freighter that was not taken up by its partner carrier MNG Airlines (MB/Istanbul Atatürk). It is operating the aircraft on behalf of Gestair Cargo (RGN/Madrid Barajas) and Layônair (Las Palmas) on cargo services to the Canary Islands.
