08JAN2013: Toumaï Air Tchad plans relaunch with leased B737
Toumaï Air Tchad (9D, N'Djamena) is planning to resume operations shortly with a B737-300 4L-IMA (MSN 24717) wet-leased from Georgian Star International (GST, Tbilisi) according to Aerotransport. The national carrier had been grounded in early July 2012 over safety issues and at the time operated with a single Fokker 28-4000. No details about its network plans have emerged yet, but Toumaï used to operate from N'Djamena to Bangui, Cotonou, Douala and Khartoum prior to having its air operator certificate suspended.

Toumaï Air Tchad (9D, N'Djamena) has been banned from operating international flights by the government of Chad after an IATA safety audit reportedly revealed a series of problems. It currently operates a single Fokker 28-4000 TT-EAS (MSN 11204) offering regional services with the aircraft and a B737-200 Adv. YU-ANP (MSN 23912) wet-leased from Aviogenex (JJ, Belgrade).

Corendon Airlines (XC, Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen) has wet-leased three of its four B737-300s to Safiran Airlines (SFN/Tehran), Sudan Airways (SD/Khartoum) and Toumai Air Tchad (9D/N'Djamena) for the winter season.
