25MAR2013: Silk Way Airlines intends to order four B747-8 freighters
Silk Way Airlines (ZP, Baku Heydar Aliev International (GYD)) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Boeing (BOE, Chicago O'Hare International (ORD)) for an order of four B747-8(F) freighters with the aircraft to be delivered between 2014 and 2017 according to Cargo Facts. Silk Way currently operates three B747-400(F) alongside ten Il-76s and three An-12s while its sister carrier Silk Way West Airlines (AZG, Baku Heydar Aliev International (GYD)) operates two B767-300(F) freighters.

Silk Way Airlines (ZP, Baku Heydar Aliev International (GYD)) has set up a new subsidiary called Silk Way West Airlines (AZG, Baku Heydar Aliev International (GYD)) that will operate its two B767-300(F) freighters that it will shortly take delivery of. It plans to operate from Baku Heydar Aliev International (GYD) to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International (BKK) and Seoul Incheon International (ICN) with the new aircraft.
