Cyprus Airways (CY, Larnaca (LCA)) could have to be closed down if no strategic investor is found that is willing to invest 45 million EUR in the carrier according to statements made by Cyprus Airways CEO George Mavrocostas. Aeroflot (SU, Moscow Sheremetyevo International (SVO)), MEA - Middle East Airlines (ME, Beirut Rafic Hariri International (BEY)), Qatar Airways (QR, Doha International (DOH)) and Transaero Airlines (UN, Moscow Domodedovo International (DME)) have all held talks with the struggling Cypriot national carrier.
