Austrian Airlines (OS, Vienna) has been able to come to terms with its workers' council and has now given up plans to merge its flights operations into subsidiary Tyrolean Airways (VO, Innsbruck). The unions represented in its worker's council have agreed to lower wages in return for a single payment of an undisclosed sum to all employees prior to the new labour contracts being put into force later this year.
