Alitalia (AZ, Rome Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci International (FCO)) plans to cut up to 1000 of its 13000 staff according to a report by Italian newspaper La Repubblica in an effort to become profitable. In unrelated news, it has wet-leased Fokker 70 YR-KMB (c/n 11565) from Carpatair (V3, Timisoara Traian Vuia International (TSR)) and currently uses the aircraft on domestic services from Rome Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci International (FCO) to Ancona Falconara (AOI), Bologna Guglielmo Marconi (BLQ) and Pisa Galileo Galilei International (PSA).
