Cathay Pacific orders more A350s, converts A350-900s to A350-1000s

Cathay Pacific (CX, Hong Kong Chep Lap Kok) has placed an order with Airbus Industrie (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) at the Farnborough Air Show for ten A350-1000s that are expected to be delivered from 2018 onwards. The recently modified A350-1000, the largest of the A350 family, will seat up to 412 passengers in a two class configuration or about 350 in a three class configuration. Cathay had previously ordered 32 A350-900s and has now also decided to convert 16 of its A350-900 orders to the A350-1000 leaving it with 16 A350-900s and 26 A350-1000s on order. The order is still subject to final approval by the Cathay board of directors.
