Sol del Paraguay plans to make use of PLUNA bankruptcy to launch new routes
Sol del Paraguay (PI, Asuncion Silvio Pettirossi International (ASU)) is planning to use the the lack of supply in Paraguay after the bankruptcy of Uruguayan regional carrier PLUNA (PU, Montevideo Carrasco (MVD)) to launch new routes from Asuncion. PLUNA was serving the city twice daily also carrying a lot of connecting traffic. Sol has already announced São Paulo Internacional Guarulhos (GRU) as a new destination and is considering adding flights to Montevideo Carrasco (MVD) and Santiago de Chile Arturo Merino Benítez International (SCL). Sol currently serves Buenos Aires Ezeiza Ministro Pistarini (EZE) twice daily and operates a domestic flight to Ciudad del Este Guarani International (AGT) three times a week.
