Mega Maldives plans to add B757-200 in August to support new routes

Mega Maldives Air (5M, Malé Ibrahim Nasir International (MLE)) has unveiled plans to take delivery of a leased B757-200 later this month that will be used to launch a new scheduled charter route from Malé Ibrahim Nasir International (MLE) to Johannesburg Oliver Reginald Tambo International (JNB). It will also use the aircraft on existing charter services to Chongqing Jiangbei (CKG), Chengdu Shuangliu International (CTU) and Hong Kong Chep Lap Kok International (HKG). As a result, Mega will have additional capacity available on its existing fleet of two B767-300ERs that it plans to use for new routes to Melbourne Tullamarine International (MEL), Tokyo Narita New Tokyo International (NRT) as well as one or two destinations in Germany.
