Astro Air International (Manila Ninoy Aquino International (MNL)) plans to resume scheduled charter operations later this year with a fleet of two ex-Spirit of Manila Airlines (SM, Clark Diosdado Macapagal International (CRK)) MD-83s RP-C7702 (MSN 49939) and RP-C8708 (MSN 49946). It had last operated in 2004 with an A300 wet-leased from Turkish charter carrier Fly Air (F2, Istanbul Atatürk/Yesilköy International (IST)). While Astro Air's route network is not yet clear, its initial proving flights were operated from Clark Diosdado Macapagal International (CRK) via Laoag International (LAO) to Taipei Taoyuan International (TPE).
