PIA B747-300 wet-lease plan cancelled, looking for B777-200s instead
PIA - Pakistan International Airlines (PK, Karachi Quaid-e-Azam Jinnah International (KHI)) will now not wet-lease the two B747-300s it had planned to get from Saudia (SV, Jeddah King Abdul Aziz (JED)) for the Hajj charter season. It is reportedly instead negotiating with EgyptAir (MS, Cairo International (CAI)) about a lease agreement for two of the B777-200ERs of EgyptAir which currently has too many long-haul aircraft in its fleet and has been actively looking for wet- and dry-lease opportunities recently.
