Melbourne, FL announced as base for Elite Airways scheduled operations

Elite Airways (Portland International (PWM)) is a business charter operator which has announced plans to start scheduled operations from Melbourne International (MLB) to airports "without non-stop service" to Florida from mid-December. Elite plans to initially operate two CRJ-100s on the services that will link Melbourne with destinations such as Niagara Falls International (IAG), Plattsburgh International (PBG), Portland International (PWM), Portsmouth Pease International (PSM) and Worcester Regional (ORH). Niagara Falls and Plattsburgh are already served by Allegiant Air (G4, Las Vegas McCarran International (LAS)) from Orlando Sanford International (SFB). Elite plans to eventually use larger jets and is considering either B737-300s, B737-700s or A319-100s to expand operations. Elite Airways already operates a single ex-Comair (USA) (OH, Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International (CVG)) CRJ-100 N97EA (c/n 7027).
