Air Zimbabwe (UM, Harare International) chairman Osias Bvute has announced plans to resume regional operations with its two Yunshuji Y-7 turboprops from April 1 and to finally put its two leased A320-200s into operations by then on the daily service from Harare to Johannesburg O.R. Tambo. The newly appointed board of directors wants to use the MA-60s previously phased out to replace old B737-200 jets currently used on domestic flights. Air Zimbabwe plans to resume the carrier's most important long-haul route to London Gatwick from July 1 to be served with its B767-200(ER)s. It has also announced plans for the resumption of a three times weekly MA-60 service from Bulawayo to Johannesburg from April 1 and a new triangle service from Harare via Accra and Lagos back to Harare with its A320-200s from April 2.
