Expo Aviation (Colombo International) has changed its name to FitsAir (8D, Colombo International) following a management decision to keep it apart from the rest of the Expo Lanka Group and remove any confusion among the general public. As part of its makeover, the Sri Lankan operator is planning to dispose of its ageing fleet of four cargo aircraft which includes a DC-8-63(F), an Il-18, two Fokker 27s and a Cessna 208 Caravan, in favour of two newer "Boeing 737s" from late 2013/2014 onwards. Fits Aviation Deputy CEO, Asad Thawfeek, in an interview with the Colombo Business Times, said the move had been warranted as soft demand for the company’s current exclusively-cargo business in favour of using belly space on passenger aircraft out of Colombo International has taken its toll on his company's revenue streams which, he added, are expected to remain flat this year.
