Skymark Airlines (BC, Tokyo Haneda) plans to select the Boeing 737 MAX as its next generation single aisle aircraft of choice. The airline made the announcement on the first day of the 2013 Paris Air Show at Paris Le Bourget and says it will work with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) in the coming months to finalize a firm order. Skymark Airlines, which currently operates a fleet of thirty B737-800s on lease from GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) and other lessors, became the first Japanese airline to announced a planned order the 737 MAX, with a total of four.
