Nok Air (DD, Bangkok Don Mueang) has seen its share-price surge 12% thanks to its attractive valuation and growth prospects. The Thai carrier raised USD159million (THB4.9billion) to fund its fleet expansion plans in an IPO held last week. Buoyed by investor confidence, Nok Air intends to begin international operations to Myanmar this autumn. According to AirlineRoute, the airline will operate a daily service from Mae Sot in Western Thailand to both Maulmyine and Yangon using a Saab 340B of regional partner Siam General Aviation (5E, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi). Flights are expected to begin on September 1 and October 1 respectively.
