Tunisair (TU, Tunis) intends to cooperate with Libyan Airlines (LN, Tripoli Mitiga) on a planned Tripoli International to Montréal Trudeau flight set to begin in 2014 and which would incorporate a stop over at Tunis, Tunisair director general, Mr Rabah Jrad, has said. Flights would operate using Libyan's planned fleet of four A330-200s, the first of which, 5N-LAS (c/n 1424), was recently delivered. Despite having signed a firm contract with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for the acquisition of three A350-800s (now cancelled), three A330-200s (c/n 1512, 1521 & 1526) and ten A320-200s in 2008, Tunisair has yet to announce a date for its A330s' delivery. These will replace the airline’s A300-600s, and will also probably be used to enter the US and South African markets.
